As the Accounting Manager at Catalight, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations and financial reporting for a family of non-profit companies. This role involves managing key functions like accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and the month-end close process, while also leading a team of accountants. You'll play a vital role in ensuring compliance with financial standards such as GAAP and supporting the annual audit. Core Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll entries, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end close.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
- Support the annual audit process by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Monitor compliance with internal controls and recommend process improvements.
- Oversee grant-related accounting tasks and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Supervise a team of accountants or specialists, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with the Finance team on budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Recommend process improvements and support financial system enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:

Experience managing external audits and ensuring regulatory compliance is also essential.

Conditions of Employment
- Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
- Must be able to pass credit check
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
- Must attend any required training.
