Job Description: Assists the Baader Department in the maintenance, repair and monitoring of all Baader filleting equipment used in the production of fish products in an at seafood processing environment.
Primary Job Functions:
- Assist with the continuous monitoring and maintenance of all aspects of the Baader machine equipment used in the processing factory, as directed by the Baader Technicians.
- Makes continual efforts to develop working knowledge of Baader equipment safety and systems.
- Supports, as directed, Quality Control personnel and Baader Technicians with adjustments when needed based on product requirements and fish size to ensure optimum equipment operation.
- Assists with training Baader Machine operators in machine safety, Lock Out/Tag Out awareness and optimal machine performance.
- Participates in all necessary maintenance and rebuild repairs of Baader machines’ mechanical equipment and electrical systems, both at sea and in shipyard between seasons.
- Assist Baader Technicians with systems tests and machine operation to ensure electrical and mechanical components are operating safely and within machine specifications.
- Under the direction of the Baader Technicians, learns to identify, communicate and assist with addressing worn or damaged equipment.
- Actively participates in inventory program ensuring adequate supply of parts onboard the vessel for repairs both at sea and in the shipyard.
- Able to communicate effectively and work as part of a team with supervisors, crew, office personnel and vendors to ensure a successful production operation environment.
- Attend all planned meetings and training as required.
Safety:
- Fulfill duties in a safe, efficient, manner and without jeopardy to self or others.
- Participate in required factory safety orientations and meetings and follow up instruction as necessary.
- Adheres to all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, maintaining personal PPE for both function and sanitation.
- Follows all equipment, product and personal sanitation programs and practices.
- Develops thorough knowledge of all Lock Out/Tag Out protocol procedures within the factory environment both at sea and in shipyard.
- Maintain continued working knowledge of emergency procedures and equipment.
- Confirm only approved materials are used and available for cleanup and repair of machinery in accordance with their instructions and application.

Conditions on the Vessel:
- Shifts are 12-16 hours per day, 7 days a week for the duration of the fishing contract.
- Contracts are seasonal, duration based on the season and the availability of fish.
- Conditions are regularly cold and wet and weather will cause the vessel to move unexpectedly during operation.
- Crewmembers provided with a bunk, mattress and locker in crew quarters.
- Crew lounge provides access to two computer kiosks for short-term usage during breaks.
