Purpose

Play a critical role in identifying opportunities, designing and conducting analysis, and developing solutions to drive business strategy and meet critical objectives

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Engage with business stakeholders (sales, marketing, operations, finance, and leadership) as a subject matter expert (SME) to understand strategic goals and translate them into data and technology solutions

Query and analyze data from cloud-based platforms like Snowflake to uncover insights and support business cases

Design and build dashboards using BI software, monitor KPIs, identify trends, and support operational and strategic decisions

Develop and automate reports that summarize complex data into clear actionable insights using SQL, Python, and AI/ML tools

Collaborate with Data Engineers and IT to ensure data pipelines and models align with business needs

Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership, through compelling data storytelling

Stay current on emerging technologies like natural language generation (NLG), machine learning, and AI to continuously improve analytics capabilities

Prepare requirements, specifications, business processes, and recommendations, including technical and non-technical documentation for Application Developers, IT, Data Engineers, Business Operations, and Leaders

End-to-end project management from requirements to final deliveries

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) and/or equivalent work experience required

Strong skills in SQL, familiarity with Python, and AI/ML/NLG technologies are a plus

Proficiency in BI reporting applications (e.g., Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, MicroStrategy, Qlik)

Proficiency working in cloud data platform (e.g, Snowflake, AWS, Azure)

Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex data for diverse audiences

Attention to detail, aesthetic design, visual representation of data, and UI/UX of reporting applications

A proactive, independent mindset with a passion for solving business problems through data

Experience in Property & Casualty Insurance or a related field is a plus

Proven experience with Change Management

Proven experience working in waterfall and agile (preferred) methodologies
