Controller – CPG Advisory Firm – High Growth E-Commerce – Remote Our client is a fast-growing accounting advisory firm that partners with some of the most exciting high-growth e-commerce and consumer brands in the market. They're seeking a Controller to serve as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of rapidly scaling, inventory-driven businesses, providing hands-on accounting leadership and strategic financial guidance as these companies grow. You'll have the opportunity to manage your own portfolio of clients, partner directly with founders and executive leadership teams, and gain valuable exposure to a diverse range of high-growth businesses, industries, and complex accounting challenges. With the support of a dedicated accounting team, you'll oversee day-to-day accounting while helping clients optimize processes, navigate growth, and scale their finance functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, client-facing environment and wants broad exposure to high-growth e-commerce companies. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in QuickBooks Online and experience working across multiple ERP systems. Responsibilities • Oversee the month-end close process for a portfolio of clients, reviewing journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, inventory adjustments, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP. • Prepare and present timely, client-ready monthly financial reporting packages, providing insights into financial performance and key business trends. • Review e-commerce accounting activity, including marketplace settlements, inventory transactions, cost of goods sold, and revenue recognition across multiple sales channels. • Partner directly with founders and leadership teams as the primary accounting contact, providing guidance on day-to-day accounting matters and financial operations. • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and month-end close procedures to support growing businesses and increase operational efficiency. • Review and mentor the work of junior accounting staff, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to accounting best practices. • Support budgeting, forecasting, and other strategic finance initiatives in collaboration with the firm's fractional CFO team. Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance • 4-10 years in accounting or finance operations • Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles • Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks) and Excel • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem solving • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 + bonus The above salary range represents Advice's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is not reflective of the total compensation package, which may also include benefits, equity and other non-cash incentives.
