About arenaflex
At arenaflex, we are fundamentally transforming the way Americans save for retirement. Our mission is simple yet profound: to make saving for retirement effortless, accessible, and dignified for everyone. We believe that every person deserves the opportunity to retire with financial security, yet millions of hardworking Americans have old 401(k) accounts scattered across former employers—often forgotten, sometimes incurring unnecessary fees, and always difficult to manage. We're changing that narrative entirely.
Our innovative digital platform helps people locate their lost or forgotten retirement accounts and consolidate them into a single, manageable account at any financial institution of their choice. We've eliminated the paperwork, the endless phone calls, the faxes, and the bureaucratic frustration that has historically made retirement account rollover an ordeal. With arenaflex, what once took weeks of back-and-forth now happens digitally, seamlessly, and in a fraction of the time.
We've already helped thousands of Americans take control of their financial futures, and we're just getting started. Our vision extends far beyond account consolidation—we intend to systematically remove every friction point and excessive fee embedded in the retirement savings system that prevents Americans from building the wealth they deserve.
We've attracted capital from leading venture investors who share our vision, including Canapi Ventures, Greycroft, RRE, Bling Capital, and Walkabout Ventures. We are a growing team of approximately 35 passionate individuals based in New York City, united by our commitment to our mission and our belief that financial dignity should be available to all.
About The Role
Are you passionate about helping people achieve financial security? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a real difference? If so, arenaflex is looking for a Customer Service & Operations Associate to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of retirement savings.
As a Customer Service Specialist at arenaflex, you will be the frontline ambassador of our mission. You'll interact directly with customers who are taking a crucial step toward securing their financial future—consolidating scattered retirement accounts into a unified, manageable portfolio. Your work will directly impact real people's lives, helping them navigate what can often be an overwhelming and confusing process with confidence and clarity.
This role goes beyond traditional customer service. You'll serve as an advocate for our customers, gathering invaluable feedback that will directly inform our product roadmap and help us continuously improve our offerings. You'll work closely with our product and engineering teams to translate customer needs into enhanced features and functionality. In this position, you'll have the unique opportunity to see the immediate impact of your efforts while contributing to a mission that affects millions of Americans.
At arenaflex, we move fast and iterate quickly. You'll collaborate directly with team members across all departments, gaining exposure to every aspect of our business. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to grow their career in fintech, financial services, or customer operations while making a meaningful difference in people's lives.
What You'll Do
As a Customer Service & Operations Associate, your primary responsibility will be delivering exceptional support to customers throughout their arenaflex experience. This includes:
- Guiding customers through the arenaflex rollover experience — You'll be the trusted voice that walks customers through each step of the account consolidation process, answering their questions via chat, email, and phone with patience, expertise, and professionalism.
- Becoming an expert on 401(k)s, rollovers, and IRAs — You'll develop deep knowledge of retirement account structures, rollover rules, and related financial concepts, enabling you to provide accurate, reliable guidance that builds customer confidence.
- Advocating for customers with financial institutions — When necessary, you'll communicate directly with banks, brokerages, and former employers on behalf of customers to facilitate transactions and resolve issues that arise during the rollover process.
- Building and maintaining knowledge resources — You'll contribute to our internal knowledge base and external FAQ documentation, ensuring that both team members and customers have access to accurate, up-to-date information.
- Synthesizing customer feedback — You'll gather, analyze, and share customer insights with product and engineering teams, playing a critical role in shaping the evolution of our platform.
- Participating in cross-functional initiatives — As part of a small, fast-moving team, you'll collaborate on projects beyond traditional customer service, contributing to process improvements, operational efficiency, and team knowledge sharing.
What You'll Bring
We're seeking a candidate who combines strong customer service skills with a genuine passion for helping people achieve their financial goals. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Four or more years of relevant experience in a customer service, client-facing, or support role. You should have a proven track record of delivering excellent customer experiences while managing multiple priorities.
- Financial industry experience, preferably including FINRA licenses such as Series 6 or Series 7. While not strictly required, this background demonstrates your familiarity with the regulatory environment and your ability to navigate complex financial processes.
- A strong interest in helping people achieve financial wellness. You should be genuinely motivated by our mission and eager to help customers navigate the sometimes-confusing world of retirement accounts.
- Familiarity with customer service best practices and tools, including CRM systems, ticketing platforms, and live chat software. You should be comfortable using technology to deliver efficient, effective support.
- Flexibility to work varied hours when necessary to solve customers' problems. Our customers span different time zones and schedules, and we pride ourselves on being available when they need us most.
- Experience at a startup or similar fast-paced organization is a plus. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, rapid change, and the scrappy, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality that comes with building something transformative.
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts in clear, accessible language
- Strong active listening skills and the patience to guide customers through potentially stressful financial decisions
- Problem-solving abilities and a resourceful approach to overcoming obstacles
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to empathize with customers facing financial uncertainty
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when handling sensitive financial information
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment while also working independently
- A growth mindset and willingness to learn about retirement savings, fintech, and our evolving product

- Career path development — Outstanding performance in this role can lead to senior customer service positions, team lead or management roles, or transitions into other areas of the business such as operations, product, or customer success.
- Continuous learning — We'll support your professional development through training, mentorship, and opportunities to deepen your financial expertise, including potential sponsorship for relevant certifications.
- Industry knowledge — You'll gain deep expertise in retirement accounts, rollover processes, and the broader financial services landscape—knowledge that serves any career in finance or fintech.
