Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Data Analyst to support our Music Group business areas by providing insightful analysis, quantitative research, and data-driven recommendations. In this role, you will serve as a trusted analytics partner to cross-functional teams, translating complex data into actionable insights that drive strategic planning and decision-making.
This is a part-time position offering 8 hours per week, with competitive compensation of $23/hour. The role is based in Burbank, USA, and offers flexibility for remote work arrangements. Key Responsibilities
As a Data Analyst at arenaflex, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into meaningful business insights. Your responsibilities will include:
- Data Acquisition and Preparation: Gather, organize, cleanse, and manipulate modern, large-scale, high-dimensional data from various unique sources using advanced tools like PySpark and optimized SQL queries. You'll work with massive datasets to ensure data quality and accessibility for analysis.
- Automated Analysis Development: Build automated, scalable, repeatable, and integrated analysis solutions using modern big data architectures within data ecosystems such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Google Big Query. Your work will enable self-service analytics across the organization.
- Advanced Analytics Application: Apply sophisticated analytical techniques including data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learning to identify patterns and uncover opportunities within consumer behavioral data. You'll help reveal insights that drive business growth.
- Campaign and Product Analysis: Lead comprehensive analysis for campaigns, products, content, and audience segments. Develop and track key performance metrics to measure success and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering and Product teams to deliver data projects, contributing to solution discovery, design, build, and quality assurance. You'll work closely with stakeholders to ensure data solutions meet business needs.
- Insight Communication: Translate complex analytical findings into compelling, concise, data-driven narratives that resonate with audiences across all levels and functions within the organization.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related analytical discipline.
- Professional Experience: Minimum 2 years of analytical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating strong analytical capabilities.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in scripting tools such as PySpark, Python, R, and SQL. You should be comfortable writing complex queries and manipulating large datasets.
- Analytics Tools: Experience with data analysis and visualization tools. You should be able to create clear, actionable dashboards and reports.
- Time Management: Excellent ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Statistical Knowledge: Solid understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, with the ability to apply appropriate methods to business problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced experience applying machine learning techniques such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, or k-means clustering to derive, validate, and measure conclusions from data.
- Experience documenting data requirements, rules, and assumptions for stakeholder consumption.
- Proficiency in distributed computing systems including Databricks, Google Big Query, or Snowflake.
- Experience manipulating large, transactional-level datasets and interpreting data trends from multiple disparate data sources.
- Industry Passion: A genuine enthusiasm for the music and/or media industry. Familiarity with music streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music), social media platforms (TikTok, Facebook/Instagram), and emerging technologies (digital assistants/voice search) is highly valued.
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
