The University of Maine System is accepting applications for a Digital Accessibility Specialist. This position serves as the system-wide subject matter expert and operational specialist for digital accessibility. This position will work across all University of Maine System (UMS) campuses to audit digital assets, advise on procurement, and support the cultural shift toward "accessible by default" digital content. The Digital Accessibility Specialist is responsible for accessibility audits, preparing reports, recommendations, and collaborating with teams to implement accessibility solutions. The Digital Accessibility Specialist will provide technical assistance and support to the UMS community to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and rules, including ADA Title II (including 2024 updates) and revised Section 508.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is a remote position based within the state of Maine. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable driving distance of campus to allow for periodic on-site presence when required.
Salary: The salary range is $68,000-$75,000.
