About the Role: Packaging Strategy Lead – Data
A job with arenaflex Packaging is an opportunity to contribute to the development of packaging for arenaflex's beloved owned brands, exclusive collaborations, and travel packaging. Your impact will drive sales and grow brand love through packaging that is visitor-driven, on-brand, competitive "at rack," and category-relevant. Here, you will utilize internal and external partnerships, collaborate on research and analysis to support packaging optimization, establish best practices for scale, and support sustainability initiatives.
As part of a global team, you will have the opportunity to partner with arenaflex offices, product developers, and packaging suppliers across the US, China, India, and additional global locations. This role will support and impact all areas of the Owned Brand business. What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Packaging Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our packaging data infrastructure and sustainability initiatives. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences while maintaining our commitment to environmental responsibility.
- Build foundational data requirements – Develop taxonomy structures and specific loyalty rationales to support packaging design optimization and sustainability efforts across all Owned Brand categories.
- Establish comprehensive guidelines – Consult with relevant sourcing, design, store operations, marketing, supply chain, properties, and compliance program owners in establishing relevant data requirements and flexible standards that consistently reflect our commitment to safety, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
- Manage documentation systems – Create and administer change processes to ensure accurate packaging document management portfolios across multiple systems and partner teams.
- Drive training and communication – Develop, manage, and execute innovative training programs and creative assets on an ongoing basis, for both internal and external audiences, to drive comprehensive understanding of standards, specifications, and data accuracy best practices.
- Evaluate and optimize solutions – Assess data requirements, standards, and specifications to optimize safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that align with industry standards, improve quality engineering practices, are consistent with risk tolerance expectations, and maintain a pioneer position in the industry.
- Support cross-functional teams – Offer assistance and guidance to cross-functional teams and colleagues to ensure proper interpretation and enactment of packaging data requirements, standards, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance – Consult with appropriate internal legal and regulatory informed experts, identifying effects on current data requirements and standards, taking action to mitigate risks and identify opportunities for innovation in compliance.
- Lead global initiatives – Work with cross-functional global partners to drive effective communication and roadshows around stated objective development, compliance, and data accuracy best practice requirements and expectations.
- Analyze effectiveness – Use data to identify trends or issues, in partnership with technology teams, to measure effectiveness of training delivered and communications sent.
- Monitor industry trends – Investigate industry trends and assess arenaflex's comparable data and standards practices, share insights and recommendations with the appropriate audience for improvement and compliance.
- Mentor and develop others – Provide leadership and guidance to others, driving effectiveness and efficiency in team results.
- Cultivate team culture – Create and maintain a positive team culture by demonstrating behaviors consistent with arenaflex's values of Inclusivity, Connection, and Drive; ensure ongoing, effective communications to the team, and support individualized development by offering regular performance feedback, coaching, recognition, and evaluation.
- Additional responsibilities – Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For: Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience developing and managing documentation and guidelines projects, preferably including packaging design and development.
- Leadership skills: Ability to influence without authority, manage projects, facilitate groups, resolve conflict, build consensus, establish rapport, and collaborate effectively, both in-person and remotely, across all levels of an organization.
- Technical expertise: Experience with documentation best practices, technical writing, and reporting.
- Communication skills: Skilled at developing and advising on content, structure, and delivery of effective training programs, roadshows, and communications.
- Team leadership: Experience leading teams and/or projects, driving collaboration, empowerment, and cooperation.
- Analytical abilities: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, creative thinking, and analytical skills.
- Interpersonal skills: Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
- Adaptability: Flexibility and resilience; comfortable working in uncertain and rapidly changing environments.
- Time management: Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaboration: Ability to work, communicate, and lead in a highly collaborative environment.
- Technology proficiency: Strong capability in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), Visio applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Related experience with packaging or consumer products manufacturing strongly preferred.

- Knowledge of sustainability practices in packaging industry.
- Familiarity with data management systems and packaging specifications databases.
