The Opportunity
Rex is seeking a Head of AI to lead a full-scale AI transformation across its ecosystem, spanning technology, investment, and real estate. This is the command seat for embedding AI into how every company operates, builds, and scales. The mandate is simple: make Rex one of the most aggressively AI-enabled organizations in the world, fast. This role owns AI adoption end-to-end. You will identify high-leverage use cases, deploy agents and workflows that eliminate manual work, and drive step-function gains in speed and output. You will unify data across companies, enable AI to operate on real business context, and train the organization, from CEO to entry-level, to make AI native across every function. The ideal candidate is highly technical and deeply operational. You’ve built or deployed agents, obsess over tools like Claude, and know how to translate capability into real outcomes. You move fast, think in systems, and take ownership. You are energized by the opportunity to 10x entire organizations. This is not for observers. This is for someone maniacally obsessed with AI and driven to push its limits in real businesses. Must be fully aligned with the mission and relentless in execution. Not for mercenaries. This is the command seat for embedding AI into how the company operates, builds, and scales, with a mandate to drive step-function gains in speed, output, and decision quality across every function.
This role owns outcomes across AI strategy, deployment, and adoption, ensuring urgency, rigor, and measurable impact. You will operate as the connective tissue between leadership, operators, and technical teams, identifying high-leverage use cases and deploying agents, automations, and workflows that eliminate manual work and unlock capacity across the organization.
You will unify data across companies and systems, enabling AI to operate on real business context and drive decision-grade insights. You will establish systems, tooling, and training that make AI native across every level of the organization, from CEO to entry-level, building a culture where AI is embedded into daily workflows and execution.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a deeply technical and operational builder who can move from idea to deployment quickly and repeatedly. It is a front-line seat for someone who wants to reshape how an entire organization functions through AI. Must be missionary to the bone.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize high-leverage AI use cases across technology, real estate, investment, and operations
- Design, build, and deploy AI agents and workflows that automate manual work and increase output
- Lead end-to-end AI implementation from concept through deployment and iteration
- Unify and structure data across systems to enable AI to operate on real business context
- Integrate AI capabilities into existing products, tools, and internal workflows
- Establish and manage a centralized AI stack, including models, tools, and infrastructure
- Drive organization-wide adoption of AI through training, playbooks, and hands-on support
- Partner with leadership and functional teams to embed AI into daily decision-making and execution
- Rapidly test, iterate, and scale AI solutions based on performance and impact
- Evaluate and implement emerging AI tools, models, and platforms to maintain a cutting-edge stack
- Build lightweight systems for tracking AI usage, impact, and ROI across the organization
- Ensure responsible use of AI, including data security, privacy, and governance considerations
- Operate with urgency and full ownership for delivering measurable improvements in speed, efficiency, and outcomes
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5 to 10 years of experience in software engineering, data, AI, or technical operations roles with increasing ownership and scope
- Deep hands-on experience with modern AI tools and platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, OpenAI APIs, LangChain, or similar frameworks
- Proven track record of building or deploying AI agents, automations, or LLM-powered workflows in real business environments
- Strong technical foundation with proficiency in Python, APIs, and working with data pipelines and integrations
- Experience working with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and deploying scalable AI systems
- Experience unifying and structuring data across multiple systems to enable effective AI usage
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to connect tools, data, and workflows into cohesive solutions
- Highly operational with a bias toward action, able to move quickly from idea to deployed solution
- Strong product instincts with the ability to identify high-ROI use cases and prioritize effectively
- Comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams, translating capability into business impact
- High agency, intensity, and ownership mentality with a drive to push the limits of what AI can do
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field preferred
- Builder mindset with a focus on speed, leverage, and real-world outcomes over theoretical work
