<strong>Position Description<br><br></strong>Saint Mary’s Hall anticipates hiring a full-time Assistant Kindergarten Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The Mission of Saint Mary’s Hall is to prepare students for success in college and fulfillment in life.<br><br><strong>Qualifications:<br><br></strong><ul><li> Bachelor’s degree in education and teacher certification preferred</li><li> Applicants must have a passion for working with students in a classroom setting</li><li> Excellent classroom management skills to facilitate a safe, nurturing, and positive academic environment</li><li> Prior experience working with children in an organized setting<br><br></li></ul><strong>Essential Functions:</strong><strong>Responsibilities to the General Community:<br><br></strong><ul><li> Assist students with exercises and class activities, concentrating efforts with small groups of students and individuals as necessary</li><li> Assist individual students when needed</li><li> Compile, prepare and organize materials and classroom for instruction and activities</li><li> Assist in cleaning and storing of materials after completion of activities</li><li> Reinforce all knowledge and skills taught by the Lead Teacher</li><li> Model proper behavior and play</li><li> Prepare daily snacks for students</li><li> Assist teachers by recording attendance and monitoring student work</li><li> Communicate all parent requests to the Lead Teacher in a timely manner</li><li> Refer all parent concerns and queries to the Lead Teacher related to student performance and or behavior</li><li> Attend parent conference or share observations with parents with the knowledge and<br><br></li></ul>consent of the Lead teacher either during formal conference time or at any given time<br><br><ul><li> Interact with various individuals such as teachers, administrators, staff, parent volunteers, etc. </li><li> Substitute as the Lead Teacher as needed</li><li> Escort students to other areas on campus, monitoring student behavior, checking home materials/folders and running errands as deemed necessary by the Lead Teacher</li><li> Supervise and assist students during dropoff and pickup, in the halls, on field trips, during classroom work time, lunch and on school grounds</li><li> Coordinate and/or participate in special programs or projects as assigned</li><li> Attend staff meetings and participate in inservice trainings as required</li><li> Receive and respond to inquiries and requests for assistance in areas of responsibility</li><li> Keep abreast of state standards of education in curriculum and instruction</li><li> Attend training, workshops, etc. as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills</li><li> Perform related duties as required<br><br></li></ul><strong>Additional Responsibilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li> Responsible for the care and maintenance of an orderly environment and clean classroom materials</li><li> Responsible, in collaboration with the Lead Teacher, for the safety and physical wellbeing of the students at all times<br><br></li></ul><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li> Attitude of collegiality and to be able to communicate effectively, positively and collaboratively with educational team and especially parents</li><li> Ability to build and foster positive, professional relationships with parents</li><li> Positive ambassador for Saint Mary’s Hall in the larger community</li><li> Ability to meet the demands and challenges of a fastpaced work environment and demonstrate flexibility as needed</li><li> Possess a good working knowledge of and/or a familiarity with a variety of instructional technology such as Windows applications, iPad integration, interactive whiteboard, and student portfolio applications and a willingness to implement new instructional technology initiatives<br><br></li></ul><strong>Physical Requirements and Work Environment:<br><br></strong><ul><li> Work in a fastpaced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts</li><li> May work at a desk and computer for extended periods</li><li> May occasionally work events, nights, or weekends</li><li> Must be able to teach, instruct, and communicate with students, parents, coworkers, visitors, and other professionals</li><li> Work primarily in a traditional climatecontrolled classroom environment</li><li> Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold</li></ul>
