About the Role Our client, a dynamic automotive technology company at the forefront of electric vehicle development, is seeking a talented Mechanical Systems Engineer to join their innovative team in Denver, Colorado . This hybrid role focuses on the integration and optimization of complex mechanical systems within next-generation vehicles, including powertrain, chassis, and thermal management components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of automotive engineering principles, systems integration, and a passion for sustainable transportation. You will play a key role in ensuring the seamless functioning and performance of our vehicles, working in a collaborative environment that values creativity and technical excellence. Key Responsibilities Integrate and manage mechanical systems within automotive platforms, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance. Develop system-level requirements and specifications for mechanical components and subsystems. Perform system analysis, including performance, durability, thermal, and packaging studies. Collaborate closely with component engineers, software developers, and vehicle integration teams. Create and maintain system architecture diagrams, interface control documents, and BOMs. Oversee prototype builds, system testing, and validation activities. Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues encountered during development and vehicle testing. Contribute to the design and refinement of mechanical components for EV powertrains, battery systems, and thermal management. Stay current with emerging automotive technologies and best practices in mechanical systems engineering. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a significant focus on automotive systems. Proven experience in systems engineering or mechanical integration. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and understanding of CAE tools. Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and communication protocols (e.g., CAN). Experience with thermal management systems and battery pack design is highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, teamwork, and project coordination abilities. Familiarity with automotive development processes and validation methods. Experience with hybrid or electric vehicle technology is a strong advantage.
