About the Role Our client, WhatJobs Direct, is seeking a visionary and experienced Operations Director to lead their Supply Chain and Logistics functions in Grand Rapids, Michigan, US . This senior management role is instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing strategies that optimize the entire supply chain, from procurement to final delivery. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of global logistics, inventory management, and operational efficiency, coupled with strong leadership and strategic planning skills. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain and logistics strategy aligned with company goals. Oversee all aspects of logistics, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and customs compliance. Lead and mentor a team of supply chain and logistics professionals. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Negotiate contracts and build strong relationships with third-party logistics providers and vendors. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, reporting on performance and identifying areas for improvement. Manage supply chain risks and develop contingency plans. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Procurement, Sales, Operations) to ensure seamless supply chain integration. Implement and leverage technology solutions to optimize supply chain visibility and performance. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards. Requirements Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain and logistics management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of successfully managing complex global supply chains. Strong expertise in logistics operations, inventory control, and transportation management. Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills. Proficiency in supply chain planning and management software (e.g., ERP, WMS, TMS). Demonstrated ability to drive cost savings and operational improvements. Experience with change management and implementing new processes. Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment.
