About the Team
The Advancement Platforms Data Experiences group is seeking a talented ML Data Specialist to join our Product and User Analytics team. This team is passionate about fostering the next generation of data-driven solutions working across Solutions, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Planning. In this role, you will serve as a critical member of a data-driven organization to drive the research, assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of analytical models that are essential to maintaining our business success.
Your work will involve turning the vast amounts of data generated by user searches, app content, and App Store context into business insights that enhance the user experience for end-users while driving discovery and profitability for app developers. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of data science, product development, and business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze large-scale datasets derived from user behavior, app content, and platform interactions to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities that drive business growth and improve user experiences.
- Machine Learning Model Development: Build and implement machine learning models and statistical algorithms to solve complex business problems, including user segmentation, recommendation systems, and predictive analytics.
- A/B Testing & Experimentation: Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and controlled experiments to evaluate product features and marketing initiatives, translating findings into actionable recommendations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, marketing teams, and business leaders to understand data needs and translate business requirements into technical specifications and analytical frameworks.
- Dashboard & Reporting: Create and maintain insightful reporting dashboards and data visualizations that communicate key metrics and findings to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Data Pipeline Optimization: Collaborate with data engineers to ensure efficient data pipelines and infrastructure that support scalable analytics and machine learning initiatives.
- Quantitative Analysis: Apply advanced statistical techniques including regression analysis, clustering, classification, time-series analysis, and attribution modeling to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.
- Business Impact: Translate analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives that influence product strategy and drive measurable business outcomes.
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in data science, preferably in digital advertising, e-commerce, or product analytics.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience working with large-scale datasets.
- Cloud & Tool Experience: Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, and visualization tools like Tableau or Looker.
- Statistical Expertise: Solid foundation in quantitative analysis methods including regression, classification, clustering, and time-series forecasting.
- Communication Skills: Ability to present complex analytical findings in a clear, concise, and impactful manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional, and constantly evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science.
- Experience with clickstream data analysis and digital advertising metrics.
- Knowledge of modern data engineering practices and data warehousing principles.
- Experience leading investigations and analyses on massive datasets using distributed computing frameworks.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and deep learning concepts.
