Leading the design and execution of genomic and bioinformatics research projects, from experimental design to data analysis and interpretation. Developing and applying advanced computational and statistical methods for analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data (e.g., whole-genome, exome, RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq). Identifying and validating novel genomic biomarkers for disease diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic response. Building and maintaining robust bioinformatics pipelines and databases for genomic data management and analysis. Collaborating with experimental biologists, clinicians, and other scientists to integrate multi-omics data and gain biological insights. Interpreting complex genomic findings and translating them into actionable research strategies and potential therapeutic avenues. Mentoring and supervising junior scientists and bioinformaticians. Authoring high-impact scientific publications and presenting research findings at international conferences. Staying at the forefront of advancements in genomics, bioinformatics, and computational biology. Contributing to the company's intellectual property strategy and grant writing efforts. Evaluating and implementing new technologies and platforms for genomic analysis. Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in genomic data analysis and bioinformatics research, with a significant portion in a leadership or principal investigator role. Proven track record of leading independent research projects and securing competitive funding. Expertise in statistical genetics, population genetics, and functional genomics. Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics (e.g., Python, R, Perl, C++). Extensive experience with NGS data analysis tools, pipelines, and reference genomes. Deep understanding of various sequencing technologies and their applications. Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for large-scale data analysis. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a strong publication record. Demonstrated ability to mentor junior scientists and lead collaborative research efforts. Familiarity with single-cell genomics and spatial transcriptomics is a plus. Experience in translational research or clinical genomics is highly desirable.
