We defend and believe in open-source and proof of this is that our main project, Penpot, reflects that. We’re convinced that technology isn’t neutral. That’s why we like to shake things up and go against the status quo.

Penpot is the open-source design platform for teams that need scalable collaboration between designers and developers.

what do we need

Our team is a mix of tech experts and design professionals, with great agile management skills. We also have dedicated teams in Product, QA, Infra, Marketing, People & Growth, all working together to innovate and improve Penpot.

Tech applicants note: we mainly work with functional programming and open-source tools/languages. Full-stack flexibility (comfort with both frontend & backend) is a big plus.

At Kaleidos, we keep things flat and self-organized; there is no traditional management hierarchy here. If you thrive in teams where everyone contributes equally, you'll feel right at home.

We walk the talk on open-source philosophy: All roles (yes, even design and corporate!) require using Linux distributions as our primary OS whenever possible.

We operate in both Spanish and English, so comfort communicating in both languages is essential for all positions.

Our core team works in Spain time (CET/CEST), so we look for candidates in compatible time zones (±1 hour difference).

No matter which area you work in at Kaleidos, you’ll experience truly horizontal and agile workflows.
Teams self-organize, choosing their own direction and tools. We follow open-source principles, listening to the community and prioritizing non privative technologies.


Our flat structure thrives on dialogue, so we’re always refining how we communicate. You can actively participate in Kaleidos committees, where we identify ways to improve workflows and working conditions. Here, your voice matters.


We’re a small team growing intentionally. While we’re hyper-focused on making Penpot an exceptional product for the community, we’re equally committed to maintaining a great and inclusive work environment.

  1. Visit our Careers page where you'll find our current open positions at Kaleidos. Complete the application form with your details and we'll receive your information through our platform. Any role published or can’t find the role that feels just right? We’d love to hear from you anyway! Submit this proactive application and include a cover letter to tell us more about yourself: What drives you? What kind of role do you envision for yourself? Or share anything else that let us know why Kaleidos or Penpot sparks your interest. We’re all ears!

  2. If your CV meets our requirements, we will invite you to have a 25-mins chat to better understand your profile and your desires. At that point, if we’re aligned, we would love you to write a cover letter about your experience and why you’re interested in joining Kaleidos.

  3. 1.5-hour culture interview, to get a sense of how you see our culture, clear up any questions, get to know you more deeply, and for you to also get to know us.

  4. 1.5 hour technical interview. We’ll take this time together to review your projects. The aim is to explore how you approach things, your reasoning, and how you tackle the challenges.

  5. 1-hour interview with Pablo, our CEO. Consider this step an interview to dive deeper into and ask whatever you’d like!

  6. Optional: meet with two people from for a private conversation to ask any questions you may have about the company and the position.
