Are you an experienced Release of Information (ROI) professional ready to take the next step? At BHS Connect, we support physician practices, hospitals, and large health networks with advanced healthcare back-office solutions. We’re growing, and we’re looking for a skilled, tech-savvy ROI Supervisor to guide and develop our remote team of ROI Specialists. This role is built for a seasoned ROI expert who understands the pace and precision of medical-record request processing and wants to channel that hands-on expertise into coaching, quality, and leadership. If you bring a passion for compliance, a talent for navigating complex EHR systems, and the drive to help a remote team succeed, we’d love to meet you. Position summary The ROI Supervisor is a frontline leadership role at BHS Connect. You’ll own the daily operations, productivity, and quality of a remote team of ROI Specialists. You’ll make sure your team processes medical-record requests accurately, compliantly, and within turnaround targets across multiple client platforms — and you’ll be the primary point of escalation for complex requests and workflow challenges. What you’ll lead You’ll lead a team of remote ROI Specialists and own their day-to-day performance, training, and professional growth. You’ll build a culture of accountability, support, and continuous improvement— making sure your team has the tools, knowledge, and feedback to hit rigorous quality and productivity standards without ever compromising compliance. What you’ll do • Team management & coaching — Direct daily workflow distribution and monitor real-time productivity so turnaround times (TAT) and SLAs are consistently met. • Quality & compliance oversight — Run regular QA audits on processed requests to ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, HITECH, and client-specific authorization requirements. • Training & development — Onboard new Specialists and deliver ongoing training on evolving state and federal regulations, new EHR systems, and updated internal workflows. • Escalation resolution — Serve as the first point of contact for Specialists facing complex requests, validation issues, discrepancies, or technical hurdles. • Performance reporting — Track team metrics — speed, accuracy, and volume — give regular feedback, and partner with the Director to resolve coaching needs and process bottlenecks. • Process improvement — Spot workflow inefficiencies and work with leadership to implement best practices that strengthen the remote ROI operation. What success looks like in this role, you’ll: • Keep a high-performing, engaged, and dependable remote team that consistently hits productivity and quality targets. • Balance daily operational oversight with hands-on coaching and individual support and processing. • Move fluidly between client environments and EHR platforms to troubleshoot Specialist issues. • Catch compliance risks and workflow delays before they reach a client or patient. • Foster a positive, transparent, and collaborative remote team culture. What you bring Required • Experience: 4+ years processing medical-record requests in a regulated healthcare, HIM, or ROI environment, including 1–2 years in a team-lead, supervisory, or senior/escalation role. • Compliance expertise: Deep working knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, state and federal privacy practices, and medical-record release standards. • Technical fluency: Advanced proficiency across multiple EHR systems and document-management platforms — and the ability to teach them to others. • Leadership: Strong coaching and mentoring skills with a track record of driving performance in a metrics-based environment. • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication with Specialists, leadership, and occasional client contacts. • Remote discipline: Proven ability to manage your time and lead others effectively in a fully remote setting. Preferred • Active RHIT or RHIA certification. • CRIS (Certified Release of Information Specialist) credential. • Experience managing remote or distributed healthcare operations teams. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or a related field. Your remote workspace To succeed here, you’ll need: • A dedicated, quiet, and professional home workspace free from distractions. • Reliable, high-speed internet that supports seamless video meetings and multiple cloud-basedsystems at once. • The discipline to stay focused and accessible to your team during core business hours. • Fully remote — work from your home office. • Paid training and a full-time, stable opportunity. • A collaborative, experienced team where your leadership directly shapes our growth. • Room to grow professionally and financially as the company expands.
