They are seeking an experienced Account Manager to develop existing business and identify new opportunities across a defined territory, focusing on building long-term relationships and delivering value-added technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established portfolio of customers within the CASE and plastics sectors
- Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve revenue and gross margin objectives
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with manufacturers, compounders, formulators, and processors
- Promote a portfolio of specialty additives, pigments, and performance-enhancing raw materials
- Build relationships with R&D, procurement, operations, and executive stakeholders within customer organizations
- Conduct regular customer visits, product presentations, and technical discussions
- Collaborate with supplier partners to identify growth opportunities and support customer projects
- Lead the sales process from prospecting through quotation, negotiation, and implementation
- Maintain an active pipeline and accurate forecasting within the CRM system
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies within the coatings and plastics industries
- Work closely with technical, marketing, and customer service teams to ensure exceptional customer support
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
- Minimum 3–5 years of B2B sales experience within specialty chemicals, additives, pigments, polymers, coatings, plastics, or related markets
- Demonstrated success in developing and growing industrial manufacturing accounts
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Ability to work independently from a home office and manage a multi-state territory
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned region
- Experience selling additives, pigments, resins, fillers, colorants, or specialty ingredients into Coatings
- Experience selling additives, pigments, resins, fillers, colorants, or specialty ingredients into Adhesives
- Experience selling additives, pigments, resins, fillers, colorants, or specialty ingredients into Sealants
- Experience selling additives, pigments, resins, fillers, colorants, or specialty ingredients into Elastomers
- Experience selling additives, pigments, resins, fillers, colorants, or specialty ingredients into Plastics and polymer processors
- Experience selling additives, pigments, resins, fillers, colorants, or specialty ingredients into Masterbatch manufacturers
- Experience selling additives, pigments, resins, fillers, colorants, or specialty ingredients into Compounders
- Existing industry network within the CASE and plastics markets
- Technical understanding of formulation, compounding, or materials performance
