The AI Automation Engineer role focuses on shaping and driving the enterprise architecture for AI automation and business transformation initiatives, ensuring operational efficiency and enhancing both employee and customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Improve operational efficiency, resilience, and process quality: Establish, document, and enforce highly scalable AI automation architecture standards and robust governance guardrails that prevent technical debt and ensure flawless execution at scale
- Accelerate transformation delivery and drastically reduce rework: Create, socialize, and govern clear design frameworks, logical decision models, and a centralized repository of highly reusable automation patterns that dramatically accelerate time-to-market
- Enhance employee and customer experience: Proactively identify and eliminate manual toil, mitigate process fragmentation, and drastically reduce automation-related risks, resulting in seamless experiences for both internal teams and external customers
- Embed AI-first architectural practices: Champion modern, AI-centric design paradigms that demonstrably improve overall automation scale, refine automated decision quality, and systematically drive highly measurable, data-backed business outcomes
Skills
- A B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a highly related technical field (required)
- 10+ years of progressive, demonstrable experience in senior solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or highly complex platform architecture roles within large-scale, high-growth organizations
- Exceptionally strong, hands-on, deeply technical experience with modern enterprise automation and sophisticated integration platforms (iPaaS and enterprise-grade workflow orchestration tools)
- Deep, proven experience architecting for advanced platforms such as n8n, Dell Boomi, or highly comparable platforms like MuleSoft, Workato, or massive, bespoke enterprise automation ecosystems
- Extensive experience designing, deploying, and supporting AI-enabled, API-driven, and highly resilient event-based microservices architectures tailored for complex enterprise workflows and massive digital transformation initiatives
- A profound, expert-level understanding of complex automation patterns, advanced enterprise middleware, high-volume data transformation, autonomous software agent orchestration, and highly resilient human-in-the-loop workflow design
- Exceptionally strong knowledge and practical application of RESTful principles, webhooks, OAuth 2.0, SSO/SAML, zero-trust API security, and rigorous enterprise governance best practices tailored specifically for modern AI-enabled systems
- Deep, hands-on experience designing and operating cloud-native architectures, serverless computing, and advanced AI/ML services within major public clouds (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP)
- A proven, demonstrable ability to strongly influence enterprise-wide technical direction, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and partner highly effectively with AI Automation Engineers, BSAs, and senior cross-functional executive leaders
