Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Vail Resorts is a renowned company operating destination resorts and local ski areas. They are seeking a Revenue Accounting Analyst responsible for ensuring proper recording and reporting of revenue transactions, as well as supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and prepare complex balance sheet reconciliations, including accounts impacted by foreign currency
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and US GAAP compliance.Reconcile differences between the General and Daily Ledgers and identify and record adjustments as necessary
- Identify and research potential reporting issues and complete manual journal entries and other adjustments to fix discrepancies between multiple source systems
- Support the Product Operations Team (PO) with seasonal product testing, identify and resolve product setup issues throughout the season
- Assist in developing process improvements and leverage technology to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Work with external stakeholders such as Pass Partners, USFS, and various government jurisdictions to calculate accurate and timely payments related to various revenue-sharing agreements
- Collaborate with FP&A, Marketing, IT, and other internal teams to provide accurate revenue recognition and reporting
- Assist in completing quarterly EUC’s and audit requests to ensure SOX compliance
- Assist in Lodge Accounting deposit application process
- Other duties and ad-hoc requests as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting/Finance
- 2 + years accounting experience
- Strong accounting/finance knowledge, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Self-starter with a drive for excellence, ability to build strong working relationships, and a proven ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
- Experience in PeopleSoft, Blackline, Alteryx, SQL reporting, RPOS and nVision is a plus
