Munich Re is a leading global reinsurance company, and they are seeking an Associate Data Product Manager to support their Global Specialty Insurance sector. The role involves contributing to data-driven strategies, managing data product activities, and promoting GenAI capabilities across business units.
Responsibilities
- Support GSI’s GenAI and data strategy by identifying and scoping promising data-driven use cases, and contributing to implementation roadmaps
- Contribute to the delivery of GSI-level data products and GenAI use cases, with accountability for specific deliverables supporting Underwriting and Claims excellence
- Lead day-to-day activities for data products, including managing the backlog, supporting sprint planning, customer review meetings, and aligning with IT and data engineering teams
- Support synergies and cost-sharing opportunities between business units by connecting similar GenAI use cases, leveraging shared learnings and accelerating innovation
- Actively promote and expand the adoption of existing GenAI capabilities, data products and data platforms among relevant stakeholders, ensuring their value is widely recognized and utilized
Skills
- Proven project or product management capabilities in an agile setup for 3+ years
- Strong proficiency in technical data handling, e.g. writing SQL or Python scripts to manipulate data
- Sufficient understanding of the US reinsurance or Specialty Insurance market with relevant experience for 3+ years
- Good data management skills, including SQL, Power BI, Python, dashboards and API usage
- Entrepreneurial and customer-centric mindset and ability to translate requirements into practical solutions
- Integrative personality, strong in building and maintaining relationships (internally and externally)
- Drive and dedication, as well as creativity and hands-on attitude to initiate and execute use cases (“getting things done”)
- Ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical communities to ensure data uses and limitations are well understood and will provide substantive business value
