Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Upstart Group provides marketing executive leadership and marketing management expertise for growth-minded companies. They are seeking an experienced Contract Marketing Specialist to manage client marketing initiatives and execute tactical marketing strategies for their clients.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing client-facing communications and account management with business owner
- Develop well thought out campaign plans, strategies for reaching/impacting various audiences to drive new prospects, new clients, and client engagement
- Create and execute all aspects of campaigns, content programs, and other client initiatives
- Responsible for ensuring consistency of the client’s brand voice, messaging and positioning, and visual assets
- Content creation, review, and delivery
- Drive and execute development and delivery of social posts, blogs, newsletters, email campaigns, website content, and related materials
- Manage content review and approval processes, including compliance
- Create graphics, videos, or other brand assets using Canva and/or Adobe tools for social media posts, blog graphics, etc
- Write effective content from scratch, edit pre-existing content, proofread, determine effective graphics and images, and coordinate all aspects of content delivery (posts, email sends, etc.)
- Update website page content as needed, post new blogs, edit existing blogs if needed, maintain contact forms, edit and create content within the website platform, and work with website vendor as needed
- Able to work within time-limited engagement boundaries and adjust account priorities with Upstart Group’s CEO as needed for effective account management
- Maintain project management via Upstart Group’s project software Wrike. This is also our platform for time-tracking on all work tasks
- Maintain all working and final marketing files, assets, source materials, calendars, media, and other documentation on Upstart Group’s corporate Dropbox account
- Develop and deliver content for blogs, emails, and social posts both via Constant Contact’s SharpSpring (CRM/Marketing automation) as well as required compliance platforms and processes
- Responsible for list management, data clean up and maintenance, updating media library, creating and deploying visual workflows and action groups within SharpSpring, and working with technical support vendor as needed
- Maintain an Upstart Group Office365 email account for all communications per Upstart Group’s processes
- Support monthly or quarterly reporting such as marketing activity updates and basic performance reports
- Support the documentation of recurring marketing processes and client-specific workflows
- Help identify areas where work can be made clearer, more consistent, or more efficient
Skills
- Your business must be formally incorporated as an S-Corp, C-Corp, or an LLC (ideally legally taxed as an S/C-Corp)
- 5+ years of hands-on and project management marketing experience
- Experience in a marketing agency, fractional marketing firm, or marketing consulting role is required
- Direct experience both creating and managing content marketing, social media, email marketing, blogs, graphics/media creation, websites, and other recurring marketing programs
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills specific to blogs, social media and email marketing content
- Experienced working directly with clients, managing vendors, internal management oversight, and team support
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Strong sense of responsibility and actionable accountability
- Patient, a good listener, invested in client success, friendly, and able to manage and adapt to different communication styles
- Clear and timely in communication
- Flexible when priorities shift, while still keeping work organized
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable managing multiple deadlines, stakeholders, and moving parts
- Ability to work independently and proactively ask clarifying questions
- Comfortable working in a remote, deadline-driven environment
- Experience with WordPress or other website platforms, email marketing platforms, social media assets, posting and scheduling tools, project management tools, Microsoft Office, Dropbox or similar file management system, and CRM/marketing automation tools
- Experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Looker Studio is a plus, including the ability to review performance data and support basic recurring reporting
