The Instructional Designer will lead client discovery sessions, recommend learning strategies, and design engaging learning experiences that improve performance and change behavior.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery sessions with clients, stakeholders, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand business goals, learner needs, performance challenges, and project requirements
- Consult with clients to recommend learning strategies, performance support solutions, and blended learning approaches that align with business objectives
- Create learning strategies and project plans that align with client goals, timelines, and desired business outcomes
- Transform complex information into engaging, easy-to-understand learning experiences
- Design and develop modern learning solutions, including eLearning, microlearning, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (VILT), video-based learning, and performance support resources
- Build, test, and publish learning experiences in Learner Mobile and other LMS platforms
- Leverage AI tools—including ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Synthesia, Adobe Firefly, Canva Magic Studio, WellSaid Labs, and similar technologies—to streamline workflows, enhance creativity, and accelerate content development
- Apply AI throughout the design process for research, ideation, scripting, editing, image creation, video production, voiceovers, and quality review
- Collaborate with instructional designers, graphic designers, media specialists, developers, and clients to produce cohesive, high-quality learning experiences
- Present learning concepts, prototypes, and deliverables to clients while incorporating feedback effectively
- Design learning experiences that improve engagement, knowledge retention, learner adoption, and measurable business performance
- Support communication and adoption strategies that promote and sustain learning initiatives
Skills
- 3+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or corporate training
- Experience leading client discovery sessions and consulting with subject matter experts to identify learning and performance needs
- Experience recommending learning strategies, performance support, and blended learning solutions based on business goals
- Experience designing and developing corporate learning solutions from concept through delivery
- Experience developing eLearning with Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools for content creation, media development, and workflow efficiency
- Strong visual design and media development skills, including graphics, video, and interactive learning assets
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously
- Outstanding communication, presentation, facilitation, and client relationship skills
- Passion for microlearning, mobile learning, and learner-centered design
- Curiosity for emerging technologies including AI, adaptive learning, gamification, and learning analytics
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
- Experience with Vyond, Synthesia, Camtasia, or other video and AI content creation tools
- Experience with xAPI, SCORM, or learning analytics
- Experience facilitating workshops or consulting directly with enterprise clients
