Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. AAMBC Inc. is a prominent organization supporting black literary creatives and hosts the AAMBC Awards. They are seeking a Literary Project Management Intern to manage projects and timelines for the AAMBC Literary Awards Show, focusing on digital marketing, public relations, and event management.
Responsibilities
- Managing projects and events tasks including connecting with vendors, ensuring deadlines are met, and fielding project requests
- Research vendors and gather quotes
- Ensure necessary creative is designed, edited, and completed on time
- Keep team members and management updated on project status and task
- Assist with creative efforts on client projects, developing overall design concepts, and design presentation strategies
- Create and manage workflows for brand management and digital marketing teams as it relates to the AAMBC Literary Awards and Black Writers Weekend
Skills
- Be able to work in a team setting
- Pay great attention to detail and utilize analytical & critical thinking skills
- Be able to work independently, juggling multiple projects while prioritizing and completing them by their deadlines
- Be receptive to critique, suggestions, and edit requests on creative work
- Can commit to work at least 15 hours a week
- Ability to work remotely
- Have the equipment, tools, and software needed for the role
- Must attend all scheduled staff meetings and training (100% virtual)
- Have a background in one or more of the following fields: Advertising, Public Relations, Communications, Social Media Management, Journalism, Digital Media, Writing, Business, Marketing, or Project Management
- Experience in other Adobe Creative Suite and movie editing platforms is beneficial to the role
- Expect to apply your talents to the following areas, graphic design, page, layouts, branding, 2D print media, digital/social media, advertisements, copy editing, writing, and creative marketing solutions
- Experience in creative writing, social media marketing, digital marketing, publishing, media relations or related experience
- Have strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
