Remote Medical Assistant (Spanish-Speaking) – Part-Time, Variable Schedule

We partner with healthcare organizations to deliver structured, high-quality virtual care while maintaining continuity with primary care teams. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Spanish-speaking Medical Assistant to support our remote telehealth operations. This role involves direct patient communication, intake, documentation support, and care coordination under physician supervision. This is a flexible, part-time role with variable hours depending on patient demand. Ideal candidates are comfortable working independently in a remote setting while following structured workflows. Key Responsibilities • Perform patient intake, including: • Chief complaint • Medical history updates • Medication reconciliation • Communicate effectively with patients in Spanish and English • Support providers during telehealth visits: • Documentation assistance • Coordinate follow-ups, referrals, and patient instructions • Assist with scheduling and patient communication (calls, messages) • Accurately document all interactions in the EMR • Follow established clinical workflows and escalation protocols • Maintain professionalism, accuracy, and patient-centered communication Qualifications (Required) • Prior experience as a Medical Assistant (1+ years preferred) • Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written) • Experience using electronic medical records (EMRs) • Strong communication and organizational skills • Ability to work under physician supervision and follow protocols • Comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications • Experience with multiple EMR systems • Telehealth or remote care experience • Experience in primary care or community health settings • Familiarity with: • patient intake workflows • care coordination • patient education Schedule & Availability • Primary shifts: Evenings (~3 hours per shift) • Additional shifts: Occasional daytime coverage as needed • Hours are variable and not guaranteed • Shifts may increase based on operational needs Candidates must be flexible and available for a dynamic schedule Work Environment & Requirements • Must have a secure personal computer • Reliable high-speed internet connection • Private, quiet workspace for patient communication • No local storage of patient information permitted • Must comply with HIPAA and confidentiality standards Compliance & Supervision • This is a patient-facing role under physician supervision • All work must follow established clinical protocols • No independent medical decision-making permitted Compensation & Benefits • Hourly pay: $18–$22/hour (Texas-based candidates) • No benefits offered (part-time position) Final note This role is ideal for someone who: • wants flexible, part-time work • is comfortable in a remote environment • enjoys patient interaction and structured workflows Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour Application Question(s): • Which EMR systems have you used?
