As a Member Services Representative, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations that keep our financial services running smoothly. What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Member Services Representative at arenaflex, your responsibilities will span a wide range of critical functions that keep our Credit Union operating at peak efficiency. Here's what you can expect to do on a daily basis:
- Data Entry and Balancing: Complete accurate data entry tasks and perform daily balancing functions to ensure all financial records are precise and up-to-date. You'll maintain meticulous attention to detail as you process transactions and reconcile accounts.
- Item Processing Coordination: Coordinate return items with members, door vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other financial institutions. You'll serve as the vital link that resolves discrepancies and ensures all parties are informed and satisfied.
- Cross-Functional Support: Assist other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related Accounting standard ledger balancing. Your collaborative spirit will help ensure seamless operations across all departments.
- Case Management: Work member cases and activities assigned to you, following each through to resolution while maintaining detailed records and providing exceptional follow-up communication.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws. Your commitment to compliance protects both arenaflex and our members.
- Loan and Deposit Processing: Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and various checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks. You'll handle diverse transaction types with expertise and accuracy.
- Digital Banking Support: Review, analyze, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other image-enabled products. You'll help members navigate our digital banking solutions with patience and guidance.
- Account Maintenance: Log, analyze, and make necessary GL, account changes and/or returns. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you ensure every account modification is processed correctly.
- Check Processing: Process Stop Pays and Check Batching, ensuring all check-related requests are handled promptly and accurately.
- Daily Operations: Complete daily balancing and department closing tasks, ensuring all end-of-day processes are completed accurately and on time.
- Wire Transfer Processing: Obtain information from members for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic fund switch requests. Research and verify incoming and outgoing fund transfer data with precision.
- Vendor Communication: Communicate with vendors to process fund transfers, building strong relationships that facilitate smooth transactions.
- Regulatory Adherence: Deposit check returns, report member returned items on draft changes, process member checks, confirm members for outgoing fund transfers, and verify and release fund transfers through Federal Reserve verification processes.
- Workflow Management: Complete daily processing of workflows related to overdue returns, supply of receipts, foreign collections, and legal fees.
- Data Security: Ensure the security and confidentiality of all accounts and associated data that are part of your work. Ensure that your work complies with all relevant laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.
What You Need for Success
Minimum Qualifications
- High school degree or GED equivalent
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Basic mathematical calculation abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer or member service experience in a professional setting
- Prior banking or Credit Union experience
- Familiarity with Episys/Symitar systems and wire processing
- Experience in a remote work environment
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
