The Product Owner I role focuses on enhancing provider product initiatives through user needs identification and data-informed decision-making, collaborating with various teams to improve provider experience and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Identifies user needs and defines clear goals for product and feature improvements within assigned initiatives across provider and clinical portfolios
- Creates and maintains user stories and functional requirements, ensuring alignment with established product goals and workflows
- Uses qualitative and quantitative data to understand provider and clinician behavior and validate design and technical decisions
- Applies evidence based reasoning to prioritize enhancements that improve clinical efficiency, provider experience, and operational performance
- Partners with engineering, UX, and clinical operations teams to deliver high quality features on time and within scope
- Ensures user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases are well defined and support measurable outcomes within provider and clinical workflows
- Collaborates across product, data, and design teams to translate feedback and analytics into actionable enhancements for provider and clinical users
- Communicates clearly with technical and non technical stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of priorities and next steps
- Advocates for user centered design and continuous learning, bringing provider and clinician perspectives and industry awareness into daily product development practices
- Uses qualitative and quantitative data to observe provider user behavior and support validation of design, workflow, and technical decisions that impact provider efficiency and patient/member access
- Collaborates across product, data, design, and engineering teams to gather feedback and translate insights into proposed enhancements for provider users, supporting improved provider engagement and operational performance
- Supports cross functional communication by documenting requirements, assumptions, decisions, and next steps for technical and non technical stakeholders involved in provider initiatives
- Incorporates provider and patient/member perspectives into daily product development activities, advocating for user centered design and continuous improvement within assigned initiatives
- Builds technical and domain fluency in relevant platforms, data concepts, and provider workflows, including an understanding of how product decisions influence access, coordination, and outcomes
Skills
- 0-3 years of experience
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, in a digital / AI-focused environment
- Experience utilizing data and analytics to train and optimize performance
- Experience partnering with service, call-center, or customer/member facing teams, preferably in the healthcare industry
- Provide experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a digital / AI-focused environment delivering innovative solutions that enable business
- Customer-focused, creative, iterative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to drive discovery sessions and workshops with business users
- Strong planning, critical thinking and leadership skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Proven background in successful implementation of technology; including defining processes and documenting requirements (business, technology, and data)
- Strong program & project management skills
- Ability to create and maintain clear product artifacts (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria, basic wireframes) with guidance from senior product or design partners
- Growing ability to understand provider and network workflows, user needs, and quality/access considerations, including how digital solutions impact patients/members, providers, and care teams
- Ability to manage assigned tasks, follow established agile practices, and support delivery of enhancements that improve provider experience, operational efficiency, and access/outcomes
- Ability to support basic outcome measurement by partnering with analytics or reporting teams to define success metrics and monitor post release performance under guidance
- Learning Agility – Ability to learn new domains, tools, workflows, and product practices, incorporating feedback from providers and teammates
