As a Sales Engineer, you will play a critical role in the sales process as the technical expert and trusted advisor to prospects and customers, leading product demonstrations and building proof-of-concept environments to showcase the value of the company's solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer environments, security posture, and key challenges
- Deliver tailored product demonstrations aligned to customer needs and priorities
- Design and support proof-of-concept trials to validate solutions in real-world environments
- Partner with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle as the technical lead
- Respond to technical and security questionnaires including RFPs and RFIs
- Build strong relationships with prospects and customers, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor
- Support onboarding activities and assist with escalations where needed
- Stay current on cybersecurity trends and the evolving threat landscape
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to provide customer feedback and influence roadmap development
Skills
- Experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or technical pre-sales role within cybersecurity or SaaS
- Strong understanding of networking and security fundamentals including DNS, SMTP, HTTP/S, and TCP/IP
- Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging product demonstrations and adapt to customer needs in real time
- A consultative approach with the ability to uncover requirements before recommending solutions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities, trials, and stakeholders simultaneously
- A genuine interest in cybersecurity and continuous learning
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce and working in a metrics-driven environment
- Experience supporting MSPs or working within a channel-focused business
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as Security+ or CISSP
