The Sales Solution Engineer is responsible for providing technical and/or industry expertise to the sales team and customers in the pre-sales process.
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for complex customer engagements applying extensive knowledge of solutions and/or vertical
- Lead customer pre-sales meetings identify technical requirements and formulate solution strategy
- Create a demonstration of the solution strategy applying solutions knowledge experience and best practice knowledge
- Present demonstration of proposed solution to key customer stakeholders for validation and buy-in
- Coordinate meeting with global services to transition key information; remain actively involved in process to ensure seamless transfer of customer
- Compose internal documentation that fully reflects all activity related to the solution strategy
- Provide technical responses for request for proposals (RFPs)
- Take proactive measures to identify and improve internal efficiencies and grow knowledge of the team; remain current on best practices and market trends
- Present at trade shows conferences and events
- Mentor coach train and provide feedback to other team members; may provide feedback to leadership on technical abilities of team
- Work with development in support of solution enhancements
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in related field such as Management Information Systems or Computer Science
- Significant experience in technical sales and relevant industry or technology
- Experience with Enterprise Content Management (ECM)
- Experience with general software implementation methodologies
- Able to thrive in a fast paced deadline driven environment
- Self-directed with the ability to manage projects to completion
- Strong collaboration skills applied successfully within team as well as with other areas
- Demonstrated ability to develop and use engaging informative and compelling presentation methodologies
- Speak or write with ease clarity and impact using a communication style appropriate to the subject and the audience
- Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others; effective at gaining consensus
- Driven to learn and stay current professionally
- Up to 60% travel time required
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job
