Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. NeerInfo Solutions is seeking a Senior Director for SAP ECO / EPC solution architecture. The role involves owning the end-to-end SAP ECO / EPC solution architecture for EPC Major’s S/4HANA transformation, focusing on integrating engineering data and managing procurement and construction planning processes.
Responsibilities
- Own the target-state SAP ECO / EPC solution architecture for material procurement, warehousing, materials readiness, construction planning, and construction execution
- Define how SAP S/4HANA modules, BTP extensions, and retained EPC tools work together across MM, Procurement, PS, EWM, QM, TM, SD billing touchpoints, Project Systems, and construction execution platforms
- Approve Key Design Decisions, functional specifications, integration patterns, and RICEFW objects for the ECO scope; act as escalation point for design conflicts
- Enforce clean-core principles — challenge every ABAP/custom-core ask and push EPC Major-specific workflows to BTP or fit-to-standard configuration where appropriate
- Architect the process from engineering material requirements and BOM/MTO handoff through sourcing, RFQ, bid evaluation, PO creation, expediting, supplier quality, logistics, receiving, warehousing, allocation, and issue to job site
- Define the future-state replacement or integration path for legacy material/procurement capabilities including MatMan-style material planning, supplier collaboration, expediting dashboards, procurement alerts, supplier quality surveillance, and project-specific bidder lists
- Design SAP material master, project stock, non-valuated stock, plant = project, storage-location / warehouse structures, reservation and allocation logic, and material readiness visibility for construction
- Partner with engineering and project controls to handle material master creation, Quantifier / MTO integration, cost-object mapping, purchasing org / purchasing group structure, and segregation-of-duties compliance
- Architect AWP-based construction planning across execution WBS, CWA, CWP, IWP, control accounts, work packaging, construction sequence, material readiness, permits, scaffold/access, equipment, labor/craft availability, and inspection readiness
- Define how SAP PS / network activities map to EPC Major’s execution WBS without forcing IWP-level financial objects into SAP where not required
- Design construction progress capture, rules of credit, earned hours, installable-item progress, QVD / ITP / weld management gates, subcontractor progress validation, and interface to payment / invoice certification
- Integrate SAP/S/4HANA with tools such as P6, Smart Construction, Tracker, MC Plus, CoreWorks, Weld Console, and analytics/reporting layers where retained or transitional
- Own cross-functional interfaces across Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction, Project Controls, Finance, Quality, Safety, Commissioning, and Data/Analytics
- Define integration patterns using SAP BTP, CPI / Integration Suite, APIs, IDocs/events, data services, and reporting/analytics layers
- Ensure traceability from BPML → Solution Design → Configuration → Test Scripts → Cutover → Hypercare
- Work with data, security, basis, analytics, cutover, migration, and testing teams to ensure solution coherence and readiness
- Advise EPC Major business, IT, and PMO stakeholders on SAP-enabled EPC transformation options, trade-offs, fit-to-standard positions, technical debt reduction, and value realization
- Lead design authority forums, architecture review boards, solution walkthroughs, sprint reviews, and decision workshops
- Support SAFe / Agile delivery cadence — backlog grooming, sprint demos, dependency management, design sign-offs, and risk/issue resolution
- Prepare executive-ready POVs explaining solution choices, implementation implications, business value, integration risk, and cutover considerations
Skills
- 15+ years of SAP experience, including at least 5+ years as Solution Architect on large S/4HANA transformation programs
- Strong EPC / Engineering & Construction industry experience — preferably in oil & gas, chemicals, energy, infrastructure, capital projects, or large construction programs
- Deep understanding of SAP project-centric delivery: SAP PS, network activities, WBS, project procurement, commitment management, cost object design, and project reporting
- Strong SAP MM / Procurement expertise: PR/PO, sourcing/RFQ, supplier collaboration, purchasing org/group design, material master, reservations, stock handling, goods receipt, invoice verification, and project supply chain controls
- Working knowledge of EWM or warehouse/material issue processes for project warehouses, laydown yards, staging areas, pick tickets, material allocation, and release-to-field processes
- Strong grasp of construction planning and execution concepts: AWP, CWP, IWP, workface planning, RAS dates, material readiness, progress measurement, earned hours, rules of credit, ITP/QVD gates, and field execution constraints
- Ability to design integration across SAP and EPC edge systems such as P6, Smart Construction, MC Plus, CoreWorks, Tracker/Mile Marker equivalents, Weld Console, engineering data platforms, and analytics layers
- Clean-core mindset with practical knowledge of SAP BTP, Integration Suite/CPI, Fiori, APIs/events, and extension architecture
- Strong data migration and cutover understanding for material masters, vendors/business partners, open POs, project structures, reservations, stock, work packages, and in-flight projects
- Experience working in SAFe / Agile delivery model; comfortable running architecture in sprint mode while maintaining design governance
- Executive communication skills; able to lead working sessions with client architects, process owners, PMO, construction leaders, supply chain leaders, and IT stakeholders
- Prior SAP S/4HANA program experience for EPC, engineering, construction, infrastructure, chemicals, oil & gas, utilities, or capital-project-heavy industries
- Experience with SAP Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management, Commercial Project Management, SAP S/4HANA for product/project procurement, EWM, TM, QM, and BTP-based extensions
- Exposure to Advanced Work Packaging / Workface Planning platforms, Primavera P6, 4D/5D construction planning, field progress capture, and construction quality/completions tools
- Experience replacing or integrating legacy custom tools in large-scale transformation programs
- Familiarity with subcontractor portals, supplier collaboration portals, bid evaluation, contract/payment certificate processes, and progress-based invoicing
- SAP certifications in S/4HANA, Enterprise Architecture, Project Systems, Procurement, EWM, or BTP preferred
