Remote Senior Agronomist, Precision Agriculture

Our client, a leader in sustainable agricultural technology, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Agronomist with expertise in Precision Agriculture to join their fully remote team. This role is ideal for an agronomist who is passionate about leveraging data-driven insights and advanced technologies to optimize crop yields, resource management, and environmental sustainability across diverse agricultural operations. You will work from your home office, providing expert guidance and analysis to clients and internal teams. As a Senior Agronomist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing precision agriculture strategies tailored to specific farm operations. This includes advising on the use of GPS technology, sensor data, drone imagery, variable rate application, and yield monitoring systems. You will analyze farm data to provide actionable recommendations for soil management, pest and disease control, irrigation, and crop nutrition. Your expertise will be crucial in helping agricultural producers make informed decisions to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact. Key Responsibilities: Develop and recommend tailored precision agriculture strategies for crop production. Analyze data from various sources, including soil sensors, weather stations, drone imagery, and yield monitors. Provide expert advice on crop nutrition, soil health, pest management, and irrigation based on data analysis. Assist farmers in the effective use of precision agriculture technologies and software platforms. Conduct field assessments and provide recommendations for best management practices. Monitor crop progress and identify potential issues, offering timely solutions. Stay updated on the latest advancements in agronomy, precision agriculture, and agricultural technology. Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to growers, consultants, and internal teams. Contribute to the development of new precision agriculture products and services. Document findings, recommendations, and outcomes for client records and internal knowledge base. The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in agronomy and a strong focus on precision agriculture. Proven experience in interpreting and applying data from precision agriculture technologies is essential. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong communication and interpersonal abilities, are required. Proficiency with agricultural software and data analysis tools is a must. Familiarity with GIS software and remote sensing technologies is highly desirable.
