Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Fishwife is a modern food company focused on making ethically sourced, premium tinned seafood a staple in every household. The Senior Analyst, FP&A will serve as a key finance partner to the brand, owning revenue and cost of goods sold analysis that shapes commercial strategy and protects margin, while collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly revenue reporting and variance analysis versus forecast, budget, and prior year by channel, customer, and SKU
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to evaluate pricing, trade spend, and promotional effectiveness, and quantify their impact on net revenue
- Build and maintain revenue forecasts and demand models that reflect consumer trends, customer commitments, and new item launches
- Support new product introductions with revenue and profitability analysis to inform go/no-go decisions
- Own COGS analysis and reporting, tracking input costs, co-manufacturing and co-packing fees, freight, and other key cost drivers across the product portfolio
- Analyze gross margin performance by product and customer, identifying the drivers of margin expansion or erosion
- Partner with Supply Chain and co-manufacturing partners to monitor cost trends and flag risks or opportunities early
- Build cost and margin scenario models to support pricing decisions, product reformulations, and sourcing changes
- Build and maintain the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning process
- Prepare monthly management reporting packages and executive-level presentations with clear, insightful commentary
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Operations for ad-hoc analysis and projects, including innovation, margin improvement projects, and spend / opportunity analysis
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and analytical processes, including through automation and AI-enabled tools
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field
- 3-6 years of relevant experience
- Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills, with the confidence to partner across Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP and planning systems (e.g., Quickbooks, Netsuite) and BI/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred
- Strong understanding of revenue and margin drivers, including trade spend, pricing, and cost of goods sold; ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for finance and non-finance audiences
- Experience in CPG, food & beverage, consumer goods, or DTC/wholesale environments
- Experience working in smaller or growing brands where ownership and flexibility are required
- Exposure or experience to Cin7, Modus, and QuickBooks a plus, although relevant alternative system experience is suitable
