They are seeking a Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer / Lead Electrical Engineer to support product development engagements involving embedded hardware design, schematic review, and debugging, while also ensuring technical reliability and manufacturability.
Responsibilities
- Lead or support embedded hardware architecture and electrical design reviews
- Review schematics for correctness, reliability, manufacturability, and risk
- Own or support schematic capture, schematic cleanup, symbols, netlists, BOMs, and design-rule documentation
- Validate component selections and recommend alternate parts when appropriate
- Review MCU, USB, wireless, flash memory, power, LED, button, JTAG/SWD, UART, SDIO, SPI, I2C, GPIO, and support circuitry
- Support power-supply design, power sequencing, grounding, decoupling, ESD protection, and power-integrity review
- Define PCB layout constraints, stackup considerations, impedance requirements, placement notes, and routing guidance
- Collaborate with PCB layout engineers on USB routing, RF layout, power routing, grounding, testability, and DFM
- Review PCB layouts, fabrication outputs, assembly documentation, and manufacturer deliverables
- Support prototype board bring-up, debugging, and issue diagnosis
- Identify RF, EMI, wireless coexistence, antenna placement, shielding, and layout risks
- Support DFM, DFA, BOM cost reduction, component availability review, and contract-manufacturer handoff
- Create clear technical notes, design-review comments, risk lists, action items, and client-facing engineering summaries
- Communicate blockers, tradeoffs, assumptions, and unresolved questions clearly and promptly
Skills
- Strong background in embedded hardware design and electrical engineering
- Proven experience with schematic design, circuit review, and PCB-level product development
- Experience with compact electronic products, embedded systems, consumer electronics, industrial electronics, robotics, aerospace, medical devices, or other production-bound hardware
- Experience with MCU-based designs, ARM Cortex-M or similar embedded processor platforms
- Experience with USB 2.0, USB-C, USB-A, USB hubs, or other high-speed digital interfaces
- Experience integrating wireless modules such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, BLE, or similar radio modules
- Familiarity with RF layout considerations, antenna placement, antenna keepouts, coexistence risks, EMI/EMC mitigation, and ESD protection
- Experience with power supply design, switching regulators, LDOs, power sequencing, decoupling, grounding, and power integrity
- Experience with SPI, QSPI, SDIO, UART, I2C, GPIO, JTAG, and SWD
- Experience supporting board bring-up, hardware debugging, prototype testing, and root-cause analysis
- Experience reviewing PCB layouts and working with PCB layout engineers
- Experience with DFM, DFA, BOM review, cost reduction, fabrication outputs, assembly documentation, and contract-manufacturer coordination
- Proficiency with Cadence OrCAD Capture or similar schematic capture tools
- Familiarity with Cadence Allegro, Mentor/PADS, Altium, KiCad, or similar PCB design environments
- Ability to read datasheets carefully, challenge assumptions, and document technical decisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in a remote, cross-functional engineering environment
- Experience acting as lead electrical engineer or senior hardware reviewer on production-bound products
- Experience with RF pre-compliance, EMI/EMC troubleshooting, or lab-based hardware debugging
- Experience with secure embedded hardware design considerations
- Experience working with firmware, mechanical, industrial design, and manufacturing teams
- Experience rescuing stalled, late, or technically uncertain hardware programs
- Experience preparing designs for prototype fabrication, first-article review, and production transfer
