You will be expected to provide strategic legal counsel, conduct thorough case analysis, and represent clients with the utmost professionalism and skill.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all phases of complex civil litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation. Develop case strategies, legal arguments, and trial themes. Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case positions. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision and clarity. Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations. Effectively depose witnesses and defend depositions. Collaborate with co-counsel, clients, and expert witnesses. Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal support staff. Manage case budgets and client communication with transparency and diligence. Identify opportunities for alternative dispute resolution and settlement. Stay current with legal developments and case law relevant to practice areas. Contribute to the firm's growth and reputation through excellent client service and successful case outcomes.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the North Carolina Bar in good standing. Minimum of 10 years of substantial litigation experience. Proven track record of successfully managing and resolving complex litigation matters. Extensive experience in all aspects of civil discovery, motion practice, and trial advocacy. Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and meet deadlines effectively. Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis). Experience in commercial litigation, employment law, or product liability is highly desirable.
