Position Overview
As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in leading the vision and execution of our data warehouse, data lake, and data security services. You will be responsible for designing, architecting, and implementing state-of-the-art data solutions that support multiple use cases, including business reporting, production data pipelines, machine learning models, optimization models, statistical analyses, and simulations.
This role is based in Hawthorne, CA, and offers the chance to collaborate closely with business partners, software development engineers, and research teams to deliver solutions that provide exceptional customer experiences. You will work in a complex data environment, leveraging the right architectural patterns to manage data effectively and drive value across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of the arenaflex Data Governance team, you will be expected to:
- Design and Architect Data Solutions: Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data warehouses and data lakes, ensuring scalability, performance, and data quality standards are met.
- Build ETL Pipelines: Develop robust and efficient ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to move data between various systems, ensuring data integrity and timeliness.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with business stakeholders, software engineers, and data scientists to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Ensure Data Quality and Governance: Implement best practices for data quality, metadata management, and data governance to maintain high standards across the organization.
- Optimize Data Performance: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data pipelines and queries, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Support Analytics and Machine Learning: Provide data infrastructure support for various analytical use cases, including business intelligence, machine learning, statistical modeling, and simulation.
- Mentor and Coach: Guide and mentor junior team members on best practices, coding standards, and data engineering methodologies.
- Drive Innovation: Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to improve arenaflex's data platform capabilities.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Data Modeling and Warehousing Experience: Demonstrated experience with data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and building ETL pipelines.
- SQL Expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Programming Skills: Experience with at least one modern scripting or programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.
- Technical Leadership: Experience coaching and mentoring colleagues on best practices and technical excellence.

Compensation and Benefits
