SENIOR GRANT WRITER (CONTRACT CONSULTANT) P.A.L.S. (Prisoner Advocacy Literary Services) 501(c)(3) Nonprofit | Remote P.A.L.S. is seeking an experienced grant writer to help secure funding that advances our mission of expanding justice, advocacy, literacy, and educational opportunities for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals. We are looking for a professional with a documented history of successfully securing grants, particularly from private foundations supporting criminal justice reform, literacy, education, reentry, civil rights, or social justice initiatives. What We're Looking For • Proven success securing grants, preferably awards of $50,000 or more. • Strong research, persuasive writing, and proposal development skills. • Experience identifying foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities. • Ability to work independently while meeting agreed-upon deadlines. • A passion for mission-driven nonprofit work. Please include examples of grants you have successfully secured, including the funding organization and approximate award amount. Compensation This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Candidate is responsible for his/her own tax payments to the state and federal government (IRS) accordingly. Compensation is paid on a per-proposal basis, with fees negotiated in advance based on the complexity and scope of each grant opportunity. As P.A.L.S. grows, additional project opportunities may become available. Outstanding performance may lead to an ongoing consulting relationship as funding and organizational needs expand. What You Bring: Proficiency among any of the following below is required: - Private foundations with criminal justice, racial equity, or social justice portfolios. - Corporate foundations and socially responsible giving programs. - Individual major donor cultivation and grassroots donor development. - Government and federal grant programs as a supplementary funding source.
