At GAINS, we call it Moving Forward Faster, and it's not a tagline, it's how we're redefining what's possible in supply chain decision-making.    About the Role  The Solutions Engineer is a technical presales partner to the GAINS sales organization, responsible for translating complex supply chain planning concepts into compelling, credible demonstrations that move prospects through the sales cycle. You will work directly with Account Executives and the broader go-to-market team to understand prospect requirements, design tailored solution presentations, and serve as the primary technical voice in enterprise sales engagements. This role sits at the intersection of supply chain domain expertise and customer-facing solutioning, and directly influences win rates and deal velocity across GAINS's target markets.    What You'll Do  Own the technical discovery process for enterprise prospects, uncovering operational pain points, data environments, and planning maturity to inform a tailored solution narrative  Design and deliver customized demos of the GAINS Decision Engineering & Orchestration (DEO) platform, aligning product capabilities to each prospect's specific supply chain challenges  Build and maintain demo environments, data sets, and scenario libraries that reflect real-world use cases across GAINS's key verticals (distribution, manufacturing, aftermarket)  Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires with accurate, differentiated, and well-positioned responses in collaboration with Product and Engineering  Lead proof-of-concept (POC) engagements, including scoping, setup, execution, and results presentation, ensuring clear alignment between POC outcomes and prospect success criteria  Partner with Account Executives on deal strategy, account planning, and competitive positioning to strengthen GAINS's standing throughout the evaluation process  Communicate prospect feedback, feature gaps, and competitive intelligence to Product Management and Engineering to influence roadmap prioritization  Support the development of solution playbooks, demo scripts, and technical sales collateral for use across the team  Participate in field events, webinars, and prospect workshops as a subject matter expert on GAINS's planning methodology and platform capabilities  What We're Looking For  Must Have  5+ years in a presales, solutions engineering, or solutions consulting role at a B2B enterprise software company  Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical evaluations and POCs with enterprise buyers across multiple stakeholders  Working knowledge of supply chain planning concepts including demand planning, inventory optimization, S&OP, and replenishment  Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to adapt technical depth to audiences ranging from planners to C-suite executives  Experience configuring and delivering SaaS platform demonstrations tailored to prospect-specific use cases and data  Comfort navigating ambiguity in enterprise sales cycles and working collaboratively with Account Executives on deal strategy  Ability to translate functional requirements into clear, credible solution narratives without overpromising on product capabilities  Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)  Nice to Have  Hands-on experience with supply chain planning software  Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and how planning tools integrate within broader technology stacks  Experience with data analysis or visualization tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau) used to support presales discovery or POC analysis  Prior experience in a supply chain practitioner role (demand planner, inventory analyst, S&OP lead) that informs the buyer's perspective  What You'll Gain  Direct influence on some of the most strategic enterprise deals in GAINS's pipeline, with visibility into how your work translates to company growth  A collaborative presales environment with strong AE partnership, executive support, and access to internal subject matter experts across Product and Customer Success  Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including premium health coverage, unlimited PTO, and professional development support  A low-bureaucracy culture where great ideas win, feedback is welcomed, and results are recognized  Why GAINS  Recognized by Gartner in the Magic Quadrant for Supply Chain Planning Solutions and awarded the 2025 AI/ML-powered Supply Chain Planning Technology Innovation Leadership Award  Aggressive growth; GAINS is on a fast trajectory and our team is mission-critical to our success  A mission that matters: helping global supply chains become safer, greener, and more resilient  Flexible remote-first work environment with a collaborative, inclusive team culture  Social impact programs, volunteer opportunities, and a commitment to sustainability  We are committed to equal employment opportunity and welcome everyone regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, domestic partner status, veteran status or medical condition.
