About the Role Our client, a major force in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is searching for a meticulous and proactive Supply Chain Logistics Coordinator to join their operations team. This position is based in the historic city of Richmond, Virginia, US . The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the flow of goods from suppliers to customers, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of our client's extensive supply chain network. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of logistics principles within the demanding FMCG environment. This is a hands-on role that offers significant responsibility and the chance to contribute directly to operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and manage all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management. Plan and schedule shipments to ensure timely delivery of products to distribution centers and customers. Track shipments, monitor delivery status, and proactively resolve any logistical issues or delays. Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and transportation costs. Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and logistics providers. Optimize transportation routes and modes to minimize costs and improve efficiency. Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Procurement, Sales, Production) to forecast demand and manage inventory levels. Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies. Utilize logistics software and systems to manage operations and generate reports. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the supply chain and implement solutions. Serve as a key point of contact for carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders regarding logistics matters. Requirements Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. 2-4 years of experience in logistics coordination or supply chain management, preferably within the FMCG industry . Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., TMS, WMS) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel. Strong understanding of supply chain principles, transportation modes, and international shipping. Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy. Experience in negotiating with carriers is a plus.
