Surgical Services Support Technician
Location: Cleveland, OH
Pay Rate: $16.00/hour
Shifts Available:
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Position Summary
The Surgical Services Support Technician plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient surgical environment. This position supports the surgical and nursing teams by ensuring operating rooms, equipment, and supplies are properly maintained while assisting with patient transport and preparation.
Essential Responsibilities
Safely transport patients to and from surgical and procedural areas.
Assist with patient preparation, including pre-operative shaving and room setup.
Clean, disinfect, and maintain operating room equipment and support areas.
Handle and dispose of hazardous and biohazardous waste according to established protocols.
Support infection prevention and control standards throughout the surgical environment.
Manage scrub distribution, locker assignments, and supply inventory.
Stock and organize surgical supplies and equipment.
Collaborate effectively with nursing, surgical, and support staff to ensure efficient patient care operations.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
Minimum of one year of customer service, healthcare support, or related experience preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform full-body motion throughout the shift.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies, including assisting with patient transfers involving weights exceeding 100 pounds with assistance.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.
Ability to meet rotating weekend, holiday, and departmental scheduling requirements as needed.
