Provide technical engineering expertise and assistance involving the implementation,
and transition of NAS modernization systems, components, and equipment into the
NAS.
Perform software system engineering tasks that support NAS software deployment
and maintenance activities. Evaluate the COTS documentation to ensure that
maintenance concerns are appropriately addressed, evaluate software risk
management plans, program plans, transition plans, implementation plans, integrated
logistics support plans and similar documents to ensure compliance with FAA
engineering standards.
Support technical interchange meetings concerning software, interfaces, hardware and
specialty engineering. This must include reviewing design and ensuring that the
system meets all contract requirements of the specification and referenced standards
as well as engineering practices and standards. In addition, provide risk analysis on
meeting technical, schedule, and cost baseline requirements. Review upgrades and
modifications of any Non-Developmental Items (NDI) and identify any issues or
concerns, as well as present potential resolutions.
