The Doctors Company is the nation’s largest physician-owned medical malpractice insurer, and they are seeking an IT Cloud and Release Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on building and maintaining the TDCG Azure environment while executing release activities under regulated conditions and governance.
Responsibilities
- Design, plan, implement designated technology hardware and software systems
- Maintain all assigned TDC Technology platforms, security policy, documentation, and configurations (parameters, patches, etc.)
- Provide advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance analysis on IT systems
- Upgrade technologies to ensure they are current
- Patch TDC technologies to resolve any security or functional issues
- Provide management and executive reporting on the status and topics relevant to TDC IT Security and IT system operations
- Perform impact to business analysis for operational changes, downtime, adopted policies and procedures
- Execute designated systems to ensure business processes are maintained at the highest levels
- Complete project deliverables on time per specifications
- Ensure project deliverables maintain a balance of scope, schedule, and cost
- Ensure project deliverables meet business customer expectations
- Ensure project deliverable quality does not require rework to meet business expectations
- Participate in the planning, implementation, administration and documentation of each assigned IT system
- Understand, accept and manage your task assignments according to each assigned IT system project schedule and plan
- Participate on engineering teams to implement system configurations as specified in each assigned IT system project
- Participate on IT teams during all project tasks, and incident response actions
- Review, select and coordinate third party products and vendor services as necessary in each assigned IT system project
- Maximizes performance while upholding and encouraging behaviors consistent with TDC's mission & values
- Communicates company values, beliefs and norms to team members on an ongoing basis

- Communicates regularly with business partners to ensure user satisfaction
- Provide assistance with application problem analysis, solutions and research

- Communicates and delivers ongoing/timely feedback to project team regarding their performance
- Monitor roles and responsibilities of the project team

- Work and guide project team to ensure appropriate technology knowledge is developed
- Maintain full compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and established standards (e.g. accurately recording time worked, Submitting PTO, mandatory corporate training)
- Keep technical knowledge and skills current to effectively support department priorities
- Complete all performance and development activities including the performance review process in a timely manner
- Fulfill all required training and development obligations to maintain essential skills and credentials
- Complete all mandatory compliance courses on time, meeting corporate training standards
- Pursue additional learning opportunities that strengthen professional capabilities and contribute to team and organizational performance, with prior manager approval
- Support enterprise and departmental objectives by taking on assigned projects and delegated tasks with accountability, attention to detail, and timely execution
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance business efficiency and strengthen organizational effectiveness
- Proactively provide regular updates to leadership on project status, deliverables, and outcomes
- Maintain flexibility and agility to take on additional responsibilities as organizational needs evolve
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Technology or Business and 1 to 2 years, or 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience, preferably within an insurance/medical industry
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, face-to-face, and written
- Strong, demonstrated experience in Infrastructure as Code techniques and implementations
- Strong, demonstrated experience in heavily regulated code deployment and environment configuration
- Experience with supporting data systems such as Databricks, Azure Fabric, and Azure Data Factory
- Experience with Azure in infrastructure, IAAS and PAAS solutions
- Wide technical knowledge and experience with technology environments, including server, network, storage and communications systems
- Proficient understanding of technology systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities
- Proficient understanding of project management principles
