Founded in 2016 out of Harvard Law School's Access to Justice Lab, Upsolve has grown into the nation's most visited nonprofit financial education site. Each year, 3 million people rely on Upsolve.org for clear, trustworthy guidance on debt and credit. To date, we have helped relieve low-income families from over $1 billion in debt. About the Role 

Upsolve is looking for a curious, mission-driven content generalist to help shape how millions of Americans find and engage with financial education online.

This role blends content, strategy, and growth. You'll own and improve a library of financial education content (keeping it accurate, user-focused, and discoverable), experiment with new ways to reach people in a rapidly changing search landscape, and collaborate closely with our Data and Growth team to make smart, evidence-based decisions about what to write and what to improve. 

You'll also manage a small team of freelance writers and editors and contribute to email marketing campaigns, all while helping us rethink what content looks like in an AI-first world.

What You'll Do

• Own and improve Upsolve's financial education content library, focusing on user engagement and search visibility
• Test and evolve content strategies as search behavior shifts (including AI-driven search)
• Partner with our Data and Growth team to use analytics in guiding what we write, update, and prioritize
• Manage freelance writers and editors to maintain high-quality, consistent content
• Support and oversee email marketing campaigns
• Help maintain and refine Upsolve's style guide and editorial standards

What We're Looking For

• 1-2 years of experience in content, writing, editing, strategy, or a related field (We care more about how you think than your exact background – apply even if you don’t check every box.)
• Strong writing and editing skills. You will need to make complex financial topics simple, clear, and human
• Genuine excitement about Upsolve's mission
• Comfort working with data, or eagerness to learn
• Curiosity about SEO and how people discover content daily
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a remote, fast-moving environment
• A generalist mindset — you like learning across functions

Nice to Have

• Experience with or interest in personal finance, debt, or financial education
• Experience email marketing or drip campaign strategy
• Familiarity with tools like Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Contentful, or CMS platforms

Compensation: $90,000 – $100,000
