What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Technician at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in our pharmacy operations. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy. Here's a detailed breakdown of your responsibilities:
Patient Care & Customer Experience
- Engage with patients and customers by greeting them warmly and providing assistance with services and products
- Resolve customer issues and answer inquiries to ensure a positive customer experience
- Model excellent customer service practices, including interpersonal habits such as greeting, eye contact, and courtesy
- Deliver the arenaflex service difference by providing help proactively, identifying needs, and servicing customers until they are satisfied
- Develop strong relationships with our most valuable customers to build loyalty and trust
Pharmacy Operations
- Utilize pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information and process prescriptions accurately
- Enter patient and drug records into the system, ensuring information is entered correctly
- Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical tablets
- Verify medication accuracy and check for possible drug interactions
- Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow efficiency
- Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty
- Adhere to company rules and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement programs
- Follow strict guidelines regarding good faith dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities
Financial & Administrative Tasks
- Register all related income on assigned cash register, collecting and handling cash as required
- Guide customers to the over-the-counter aisle when possible to help them find products
- Handle telephone calls that don't require personal attention of the pharmacist, including physician calls
- Process and resubmit manual claims for third-party prescription program services in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform other clerical duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager
Inventory Management
- Support pharmacy department in inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription drugs
- Maintain knowledge of company asset safety techniques
- Document claims for warehouse overages (merchandise received but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed but not received), order errors, or damaged goods related to prescription drugs
Clinical Support Services
- Assist pharmacist in administering medical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients
- Support other medical services as required by state regulations
- Assist pharmacy staff in coordination of clinical services, arenaflex healthcare clinics, and external vendors
Community & Professional Relationships
- Assist pharmacy manager and staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community
- Build connections with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers through medical provider detailing and outreach
- Engage with health agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for enhancing growth opportunities
Facility Maintenance & Compliance
- Assist with outside and inside maintenance by ensuring the pharmacy department is stocked with adequate supplies
- Keep the pharmacy clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers
- Complete special assignments and other responsibilities as assigned
Education & Personal Development

Through completion of the arenaflex pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, your experience qualifies for 8 (8) university credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE). This course is recommended for 3 semester hours at the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category and 5 semester hours in the upper-division baccalaureate degree category, for a total of 8 semester hours—perfect for those looking to further their education in healthcare!
What We're Looking For: Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and weighing medications
- Comfortable using computer systems and technology
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months or more of experience in a retail environment
- Previous work experience with arenaflex or similar pharmacy settings
- Strong math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medicines
- Proficient computer skills for pharmacy system operations
- Knowledge of store inventory control procedures
- PTCB certification (or willingness to obtain certification through our program)
