Position Overview: IT Business Analyst – Infrastructure & Facilities

As an IT Business Analyst within our IT Offices Group, you will serve as a vital link between our IT operations and facilities management teams. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert IT administration, project management, and operational support to ensure the functional sustainability of the critical infrastructure that supports our airport communication spaces and facility operations.

This role is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and offers the unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in one of the busiest airport environments in the world. You'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the infrastructure that keeps our operations connected, efficient, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be entrusted with a comprehensive set of responsibilities that are essential to maintaining arenaflex's operational excellence:

IT Infrastructure Administration

  • Provide expert IT administration of professional services, project management, and support to ensure the functional sustainability of critical infrastructure supporting airport communication spaces for arenaflex's IT Offices Group
  • Manage all site implementations, inventories, infrastructure planning, accompanying, preventive maintenance strategies, and break/fix services for data center critical infrastructure, IT certificate labs, and remote communication room critical environment equipment
  • Oversee IT support for IT labs that serve our client application and engineering teams, providing workstations, hardware, and access to test applications
  • Coordinate remotely with professional services responsible for critical infrastructure support and break-fix activities at remote communication rooms

Facilities Management

  • Manage, operate, maintain, and monitor all critical facilities infrastructure for data center and remote communication room equipment
  • Develop data center and remote communication room standards for space, power, cooling, and physical layer IT infrastructure
  • Support IT Offices grounds fiber ring to maintain the integrity and service continuity of the Atlanta airport and facilities underground fiber ring
  • Manage space, UPS power, and critical cooling capacity

Project Management & Implementation

  • Lead project management for data center and remote communication room standards capital improvements, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Perform capital forecasting and project management for airport critical equipment life cycle replacement
  • Support Corporate Real Estate projects that involve remote communication room design/work as an IT Offices representative and on-site assessment reporting
  • Design plan guidelines for remote communication room space, UPS, air conditioning, generators, and Fire Life and Safety (FLS) systems

Vendor Management

  • Select IT and critical facilities services while ensuring accurate documentation
  • Negotiate best prices for products and services
  • Ensure that vendors fulfill their contractual obligations
  • Manage the design, implementation, and vendor support of appropriate electrical power, A/C, fire suppression, security, floor maintenance, and cabling programs for communication rooms

Operational Support

  • Provide proactive and break-fix support for alert/ticket remediation related to facilities, remote communication rooms, labs, and data center equipment
  • Ensure operational sustainability of airport critical environment infrastructure
  • Perform remote coordination of airport critical infrastructure support and break-fix activities
  • Review/store maintenance records and ensure inconsistencies are remediated
  • Provide remote incident management resolution for airport critical equipment
  • Offer remote installation, configuration, and operational support
  • Maintain strict adherence to change control activities

Policy & Compliance

  • Recommend and implement departmental policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all governing corporate standards and regulations
  • Consistently prioritize safety and security of self, others, and personal data

What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
  • Experience: Strong foundation in data center technology and critical facilities infrastructure
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with supervisory teams, vendors, and peers
  • Project Management: Proven experience in project management of remote communication room standards capital improvements, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of space, UPS power, and critical cooling capacity management
  • Vendor Management: Experience selecting critical facilities services with accurate documentation and vendor oversight
  • Operational Experience: Background in designing and implementing electrical power, A/C, fire suppression, security, and cabling programs for communication rooms
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to provide proactive and break-fix support for facilities-related issues
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to support operations with varying shifts, extended hours, and emergency requirements
  • Multitasking: Ability to balance multiple priorities within established time limitations
  • Collaboration: Embraces diverse individuals, thinking, and styles

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

While we welcome all qualified candidates, the following qualifications will give you a significant advantage:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, OR five or more years of relevant experience
  • Trade School Graduate with specialized technical training
  • IT Project Management Experience (minimum 2 years) within a high-availability communication room and/or data center operating environment
  • Hands-on experience with daily operational requirements and the operation of production systems and equipment
  • Certifications in data center facilities management (e.g., BICSI, AFCOM, or equivalent)
  • Experience with airport or large-scale facility IT infrastructure
