Part-Time Patient Care Coordinator – Flexible Daytime Hours, Patient-Focused Role

We’re looking for a kind, organized, and confident communicator to help patients navigate the process of receiving and using a prescribed medical device. You’ll spend most of your time on the phone, helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and supported as they move through each step. This role sits at the center of the patient experience. You will be the primary point of contact for patients, helping them understand their treatment, navigate insurance approvals, and feel comfortable moving forward. This is not a high-pressure sales role. It is a consultative, patient-first position focused on education, trust, and follow-through. What You’ll Do • Speak directly with patients by phone to guide them through the process from prescription to treatment • Explain how the device works and what to expect in a clear, reassuring way • Walk patients through insurance and prior authorization steps, answering questions along the way • Coordinate and submit required documentation for insurance approval • Follow up consistently to ensure patients stay on track and feel supported • Schedule appointments and onboarding sessions for device education • Work closely with the sales team to support patient needs and ensure a smooth experience • Maintain accurate records and track all activity in Excel and Salesforce This role involves a high volume of patient calls and requires someone who is comfortable spending a significant portion of their day on the phone. What Success Looks Like • Patients feel informed, supported, and never pressured • Authorizations are completed efficiently and accurately • Patients follow through with treatment and understand how to use their device • Communication with patients and clinics is smooth and professional Who You Are • Naturally calm, patient, and reassuring in conversation • Able to guide people through decisions without being pushy • Highly organized and able to manage multiple patients and tasks at once • Comfortable discussing insurance, cost questions, and patient concerns • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting • Strong communicator with excellent phone presence and follow-up skills You are someone who builds trust quickly and knows how to meet patients where they are, especially when they may be overwhelmed, recovering from surgery, or unsure of next steps. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred • Background in customer service, medical assisting, medical administration, or insurance is highly valued • Experience with prior authorizations or healthcare workflows is a plus • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe required • Experience with Salesforce or CRM systems preferred Nurses, medical assistants, scribes, or individuals with patient-facing healthcare experience are encouraged to apply. Position Details • Part-time, approximately 4 hours per day, 5 days per week • Daytime hours required with some flexibility • 1099 independent contractor position (no benefits) • Initial training is in-person in Plymouth, MN • Must have a quiet home office and reliable computer (Mac preferred) Final Note This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in doing things the right way, not the fast way.
