What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Marketing Expert at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in driving category performance and strategic growth. Here's what you can expect in this dynamic part-time remote position:
- Drive Sales and Margin Performance: Contribute directly to sales and margin objectives within your assigned product categories, working to maximize profitability while delivering exceptional value to customers.
- Data Analysis and Insights: Analyze relevant market data and translate findings into actionable recommendations for Category Plans, including optimal SKU assortment, customer loyalty program strategies, and special promotional initiatives.
- Strategic Execution: Lead the strategic implementation of daily planning activities, including off-rack merchandising plans, tracking promotional periods, and performing analysis to make timely corrective actions when necessary.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams across Stock, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Layout, Marketing, and Store Operations to ensure coordinated execution of category strategies.
- Sales and Inventory Analysis: Examine sales records and current inventory levels to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges in your categories.
- Competitive Intelligence: Develop and maintain a strong understanding of competitive landscape; actively seek out new competitive opportunities and make strategic recommendations to stay ahead.
- Market Research: Stay current with market changes, research customer product preferences, monitor supplier costs, and analyze the competitive environment to inform category strategies.
What We're Looking For: Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need a solid foundation in retail marketing and the analytical skills to turn data into actionable insights. We're seeking candidates who bring:
- Retail Math Expertise: Working knowledge of retail math concepts with demonstrated practical application in previous roles. You should be comfortable analyzing margins, markdowns, inventory turns, and other key retail metrics.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Access or other database systems is a plus.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel approximately 5-10% of the time for team meetings, strategic planning sessions, and field visits.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
