They are seeking an Externship Coordinator responsible for partnering with external employers to facilitate externship placement opportunities for students and graduates.
Responsibilities
- Place Students in Externships: Assist in driving student transition from classwork to externship opportunities
- Provide Guidance on Externship Placement: Help identify and overcome student and affiliate obstacles to foster long-term externship success
- Build Employer and Community Partnerships: Establish and maintain effective relationships with corporations, non-profits, government organizations, and community partners to promote externship opportunities for students and graduates
- Support Team Reporting: Update department leadership for meetings and support stakeholder use of relevant reporting and data
- Collaborate with career advisors to support students' career goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance
- Knowledge of current interview techniques and industry standards
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in career services or a related field is preferred
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams
