Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, maintain, and support our Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence platform. In this role, you'll leverage your expertise in data engineering, ETL/ELT processes, and business intelligence tools to create robust data solutions that enable stakeholders across the organization to make data-driven decisions.

What You'll Do
- Design and Develop Enterprise Data Solutions: Work in a time-sensitive environment to analyze, plan, develop, and deliver Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions that meet business requirements and support strategic initiatives.
- Build ETL/ELT Pipelines: Create efficient and scalable data pipelines using Python and Apache Airflow to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our enterprise data warehouse.
- Develop Business Intelligence Reports: Build ad-hoc reports to support curious data users and provide automation using Tableau, ensuring C-level executives and business stakeholders have access to critical insights.
- Maintain Data Infrastructure: Design, develop, maintain, and support our Enterprise Data Warehouse and BI platform using various data and BI tools, ensuring high availability, performance, and data quality.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Foster collaborative relationships and work with key business sponsors and IT resources to gather requirements and efficiently resolve issues and requests.
- Communicate Effectively: Deliver technical and business topics in a 360-degree format as appropriate, communicating through written, verbal, and presentation materials tailored to various audiences.
- Ensure Quality and Compliance: Develop, support, and recommend improvements to applications in the areas of standards, procedures, compliance, and quality assurance practices. Participate in design and code walkthroughs to ensure best practices.
- Ownership and Release Management: Take ownership of deliverables and manage release processes to ensure timely and quality deployments.
- Stay Current with Technology: Keep up to date on relevant technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices to continuously improve our data infrastructure.
- Prioritize Business Impact: Prioritize work based on highest impact to the business, balancing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
What You'll Bring
Essential Qualifications:
- 2+ Years of Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience creating data pipelines using Python and Apache Airflow is required. You should have a proven track record of building robust, scalable data solutions.
- Data Warehouse Expertise: Experience designing DataMarts, Data Warehouses, and database objects within relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, or Vertica is required. You should understand dimensional modeling and data warehousing best practices.
- SQL Proficiency: Strong capability in SQL and query writing is required. You should be comfortable writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting data issues.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical, organizational abilities and the capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is a must. You should be able to approach complex problems with creative solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Knowledge of big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka
- Experience with data visualization tools beyond Tableau
- Understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Advanced degree in a related field
