Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Technical Editor to join our Cloud Documentation team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position offering competitive compensation at $28 per hour, with flexible work hours and comprehensive benefits. As a Technical Editor at arenaflex, you will be responsible for defining quality standards, managing content freshness, scaling editorial capabilities, and providing editing support across multiple teams and organizations. You will collaborate with content creators, developers, and stakeholders to ensure that all technical documentation meets the highest standards of accuracy, consistency, and usability.

Key Responsibilities
As a Technical Editor at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with a variety of responsibilities that are critical to maintaining the quality and effectiveness of our technical documentation. Your daily activities will include:
- Content Quality Assurance: Support content creators by providing insights into appropriate formatting, suitable audience targeting, and best usage of language. You will serve as the guardian of clarity, ensuring that all technical documentation is accessible, accurate, and professionally presented.
- Client Advocacy: Advocate for our users by ensuring accurate, consistent, and reliable content that addresses client needs and pain points. You will be the voice of the customer within the documentation team, ensuring that our content solves real problems for real users.
- Style Guide Development: Improve and update templates and style guides for efficient workflows, while helping to define and implement optimal editorial workflows for specific projects. You will contribute to maintaining consistency across all technical documentation.
- Content Cycle Management: Manage content cycles for high-priority initiatives across teams and organizations, coordinating with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high-quality documentation.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with editors from different teams to align on best practices and maintain functional consistency. You will participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to the continuous improvement of our editorial processes.
- Editorial Oversight: Provide editorial oversight support for research cloud architecture content, ensuring technical accuracy while maintaining readability and user-friendliness.
- Quality Standards Definition: Work with the editorial team to define and enforce quality standards that elevate the overall quality of arenaflex Cloud technical content.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field. Equivalent functional experience will also be considered for candidates without a formal degree.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in technical editing, technical writing, or content management. This experience should demonstrate your ability to work with complex technical content and improve its clarity and accuracy.
- Developer Documentation Experience: Experience producing or editing technical documentation for a developer audience. You should be familiar with how developers consume and use technical documentation.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Markdown, the lightweight markup language commonly used in technical documentation. You should be comfortable creating and editing documents in Markdown format.
- Language Skills: Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and style. You should be able to identify and correct errors while maintaining the author's intended meaning.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional proofreading and editing skills with a meticulous approach to identifying inconsistencies, errors, and areas for improvement in technical content.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following additional qualifications will be given preference:
- Project Management Experience: Experience managing content projects, work prioritization, and stakeholder expectations. Familiarity with agile methodologies and content management systems is highly desirable.
