About the Customer Engagement Technologies Team
The Customer Engagement Technologies (CET) organization is the driving force behind arenaflex's customer service excellence. We develop elegant solutions that serve both customers and Customer Service Associates (CSAs) globally. Our products enable effortless self-service experiences and provide automated resolutions, while also equipping our human agents with powerful tools to handle complex issues effectively and elegantly.
As a Machine Learning Data Associate specializing in Chinese, you'll become an essential part of our Global Product Management team. Your work will directly influence what we build and how we deliver information to solve customer problems worldwide. You'll collaborate with Program Managers, Product Managers, and Machine Learning engineers to optimize translation quality and enhance the overall customer experience.
What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Bilingual Machine Learning Data Associate focused on Chinese language support, you will play a critical role in improving our translation systems and ensuring exceptional customer experiences across language boundaries. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Translation Quality Auditing: Audit cross-language interactions on text-based customer service channels to identify translation accuracy issues and opportunities for improvement in both Chinese-to-English and English-to-Chinese directions.
- Machine Translation Assessment: Review and rigorously assess the quality of machine translations, documenting specific areas where translations fall short and providing actionable feedback to the Machine Learning team.
- Prioritization of Improvements: Identify the highest-priority machine translation improvement opportunities that will have the greatest positive impact on customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Process Optimization: Work with Program and Product Managers to determine opportunities for optimizing quality auditing processes and the overall machine translation improvement workflow.
- Product Testing: Augment customer experience through comprehensive product testing of new features, translation models, and system enhancements.
- Machine Learning Roadmap Execution: Support the execution of the machine learning roadmap for translation products by providing linguistic expertise and data-driven insights.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner effectively with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and operations teams to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
- Documentation: Document all findings, quality assessments, and improvement recommendations in English for consumption by global stakeholders.
- Customer Journey Analysis: Navigate various internal tools to understand the complete customer journey and identify pain points that translation issues may create.

Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Fluency in Chinese and English (verbal and written communication) – native-level Chinese with professional English proficiency
- 1+ years of business experience in localization and translation
- Strong attention to detail with commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Exceptional communication skills – ability to articulate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Customer service experience with understanding of customer needs and expectations
- Ability to work in complex, frequently-changing environments with agility and adaptability
- Skills in interpreting customer needs and translating them into clear, actionable requirements
- Proficiency in testing and content proofreading in Chinese, with ability to document outcomes in English
- Competence in navigating various internal tools to understand and analyze the customer journey

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $32,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $70,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. arenaflex is a total compensation company, and dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
