Taylor Hodson Staffing is representing a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing workforce and education initiatives across the United States. They are seeking a Senior Nonprofit Accountant to provide hands-on support across payroll accounting, grant and labor allocations, month-end close, reconciliations, and audit preparation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and record biweekly payroll allocation entries and related journal entries
- Support labor and grant allocations across multiple programs and funding sources
- Compile and reconcile timesheet data for payroll processing partners
- Prepare bank, investment, and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Investigate reconciling items and prepare correcting entries as needed
- Support month-end close activities, including accruals and recurring journal entries
- Assist with audit preparation, schedules, and supporting documentation
- Prepare and import journal entries into NetSuite
- Support intercompany accounting and account analysis
- Maintain thorough documentation to ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
Skills
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant nonprofit accounting exposure
- Strong experience with grant accounting, cost allocations, or labor distributions
- Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting
- Proficiency with NetSuite and advanced Excel skills required
- Experience supporting audits and preparing audit schedules
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Prior experience with payroll accounting and allocations preferred
- Large nonprofit, higher education, healthcare, or foundation experience
- Exposure to restricted funds, grant reporting, or fund accounting
- Experience with multi-entity or intercompany accounting environments
